I'm serious.
When I look at my face it's like my head is lopsided on a permanent tilt. I noticed it really badly on a Zoom meeting this morning.
Is it my hair or my parting that makes it look bad?
Is my jaw asymmetrical?

How can I make it better?

Your head looks fine....

LadyLuna16 · 18/06/2020 17:57

Seriously your head looks fine - you are just not used to seeing it.

Signifyingnothing · 18/06/2020 17:57

Your face is a lot more symmetrical than mine! You look lovely.

StarryStrawberry · 18/06/2020 17:57

I think this is a case of having too much time to dwell on things... (not judging I do it myself)
Your head doesn't look wonky!

yougoogly · 18/06/2020 17:58

I really don't see it, you look very symmetrical to me.
Because of the camera, you might be seeing yourself 'reversed' so the opposite of what you see in the mirror, but what the rest of the world see. That can quite often be unsettling and cause you to think something is 'off'

Freernow · 18/06/2020 18:01

You have a perfectly nice face. We're all a bit asymmetrical when we look closely. It's normal. Faces are also at their best when they are moving, talking, smiling, showing expression etc.

costco · 18/06/2020 18:03

When I look really closely I wonder if you have had wisdom teeth taken out on one side and not on the other. but generally your face is totally fine, and you have lovely skin! jealous;)

Craftycorvid · 18/06/2020 18:04

It’s a very nice face and Zoom et al is just awful! Unless you have access to professional lighting and make up every morning, you probably aren’t going to look your best on a buffering, pixilating conference call.

Lucked · 18/06/2020 18:05

Apparently we look weird in selfies because we are so used to seeing a mirror image of ourselves. Google it.

fairgame84 · 18/06/2020 18:11

I've had both wisdom teeth out at the bottom.
I'm one if those people that never really looks good in photos but this morning was the first time I used zoom and honestly I looked horrendous. Everyone else looked ok so maybe it is a case of not used to seeing myself.
I don't normally dwell on stuff but I'm getting married in September and starting to worry about looking awful in wedding photos.

You look beautiful. Zoom is unforgiving and having an hour or so in which to critique your own face is another shit side effect of lockdown. You don't need to do anything xx

Flippinfurloughed · 18/06/2020 18:20

Honestly, you have amazing skin and look really pretty (heart eyes especially Grin) you will be a beautiful bride, you just aren’t used to seeing yourself on zoom!

TrickyKid · 18/06/2020 18:20

I can't see what you mean but I don't think anyone has a completely symmetrical face. Yours definitely looks completely normal and you certainly need to make it better!

VictoriaBun · 18/06/2020 18:21

You would look better without those glasses
Sorry couldn't help myself !
You look ok to me.

weathervane1 · 18/06/2020 18:22

Your face is fine. Open and attractive. If anything I think having your hair pulled back perhaps makes it looks a bit thin. In different times I wonder what other styles would suit ? A soft bob perhaps?

123rd · 18/06/2020 18:23

Can't see anything that needs improving...as PP said we are not used to seeing ourselves so much. I think you are being over critical

GuiltyBark · 18/06/2020 18:24

A little asymmetry makes things interesting but it's such a slight difference I wouldn't have noticed. You've lovely skin and gorgeous hair colour, lots to celebrate. Try a side parting for a change. Imagine you're doing a 80s flick fringe and brush/sweep it around a brush away from your face. I moved from centre to side parting and that gave me a bit of a fresh look.

Buggedandconfused · 18/06/2020 18:24

I think you need to get a grip OP. Nothing wrong with your face. You look a little pale and a bit of blush/bronzer would look good on you. You have great cheek bones and clear skin!!

gamerchick · 18/06/2020 18:25

You'd look mint with a full fringe Grin

There's nothing wrong with your head and take heed that everyone in that soon meeting was studying themselves also.

gamerchick · 18/06/2020 18:25

*zoom

GuiltyBark · 18/06/2020 18:26

Zoom flips your face weirdly I think which makes us all look odd to our own eyes I think?

Here's a tip for a selfie (not that I'm a selfie fan but it's an interesting exercise). Instead of using phone camera front facing close up, hold it at arm's length and zoom in to click. Your face will have much more natural proportions.

TorkTorkBam · 18/06/2020 18:28

Your eyesight needs testing.

Or, dare I ask, during the Zoom call were you not exactly face on to the camera?

CherrySpritz · 18/06/2020 18:30

Actually you have a very symmetrical face. More so than most people. I’ve no idea what you’re worrying about.

SickOfNorthernExile · 18/06/2020 18:31

You look fine OP.

I had orthodontics done in my teens that have left my mouth lopsided- it’s exacerbated in recent years, I think it’s linked to extreme neck muscle tension...

Anyway, am considering new crown on a prominent tooth, fillers and Botox to remedy post-lockdown... so I hear you! And would absolutely say if I saw a problem... but I don’t. You look ace.
