Has anybody bought clothes from Sainsbury’s?

I need to get dc some summer clothes so have been looking around at various online options.

Now I keep getting adverts for ladies clothes from Sainsbury’s popping up and I quite like the look of some of them!

What’s the quality like and are they true to size?

I might treat myself I’d the reports are good!

I quite like the clothea from the Tu range. Womens stuff I have found to be quite generous size wise, but the kids stuff a bit smaller. I really like their leggings and joggers, the material is lovely and soft.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 08/06/2020 09:33

I really like them but the sizes are very generous. When I was wearing a 16 in other shops I was a 12-14 in Tu. They wash well. I have a Tu skirt on today actually and my colleague said a few minutes ago that she really liked it (she's 12 years younger than me and has never complimented anything I wear before, make of that what you will!).

I've bought a couple pairs of jeans which went saggy after a while.

I've bought some work stuff too - short jackets mainly - and I've been pleased with the quality and styling.

ThatLibraryMiss · 08/06/2020 09:39

I like them. I find them true to size and the fabric and construction is good for the price point - they won't last for years but for a couple of seasons they're more than OK. Some of their things are very nice and sell out fast so it's worth having a look every time you go in, to see what's new.

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 08/06/2020 09:43

The quality's pretty good and they're true to size for my taller-and-wider-than-average DC.

peachypetite · 08/06/2020 09:45

One of the only places you can find cotton dresses for summer! Quality is great for the price.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 08/06/2020 09:48

Thanks. I’ll have to buy from their website as we don’t have a shop anywhere near enough for me to travel to (Wales).

I’ll definitely take a closer look though, as your reports are generally favourable and the prices are good.

The quality is mostly pretty good, considering they're supermarket clothes.

If you go to a larger store, you might find the Tu Premium range, which even includes cotton, linen and real leather.

However, they are 'cheap' and will pill and fall apart if you don't look after them.

SydneyCarton · 08/06/2020 09:49

I think their black leggings get a lot of thumbs up on here; I’m wearing a pair right now Grin. They’re nice and thick with a good amount of stretch and they wash well. The children’s stuff is good too, I’ve bought lots of uniform bits from them.

Scarby9 · 08/06/2020 09:54

Around February time a colleague and I were speculating on where our ultimate boss might have bought the dress she was wearing to lead an important cross departmental meeting. We settled on Hobbs, but when we asked her later it turned out to be Sainsburys! (Worn with a Hobbs jacket). Really looked high end.

LuxuryWoman2020 · 08/06/2020 11:01

Pretty good, about Next quality I’d say. Good bras, excellent leggings (the luxury ones) good nightwear, I like the soft skinny jeans. I find the tops pretty excellent and everything seems true to size.

TulipWonder · 08/06/2020 11:03

I've found some absolute gems of dresses/skirts etc in Tu over the past couple of years. Always have a browse if I've got time, especially when it's 25% off.

NameChange84 · 08/06/2020 11:04

They are alright for casual day to day wear. I really rate the nightwear and lounge wear. The sales are incredible value for “fast” fashion and the quality 100 times better than places like Primark or Matalan. I’ve got a black fine knit jumper and some black brocade type lounging pants that I’ve had for over 5 years which have been worn to death and still don’t look even slightly shabby.

CorianderLord · 08/06/2020 11:05

I like them but size down.

thatcarolebaskinbitch · 08/06/2020 11:16

I love TU and buy a lot of workwear and a few casual bits, quality is good for the price but you do need to size down with most things.
They also do 25% off everything about 4 times a year which is really good although you have to be quick to get what you want!

hammeringinmyhead · 08/06/2020 12:02

I love Sainsbury's. I have 4 pairs of their jeans I think - also really rate their t shirts and my favourite dungarees are theirs.

Their kids stuff is fantastic too. DS is normally kitted out in a Sainsbury's top.

Floisme · 08/06/2020 12:08

I stopped buying. Admittedly this was several years ago so they may have improved, but I got fed up of things looking tired and saggy after only a couple of wears - and that was even before washing.

The menswear may be better. My husband - who is extremely fussy - buys it regularly.

Terralee · 08/06/2020 16:35

I was bought this dress recently & really like it.

Has anybody bought clothes from Sainsbury’s?
BlusteryLake · 08/06/2020 16:41

I bought a beach dress there last year. Really good price and the colour has stayed bright through the wash.

Bella2020 · 08/06/2020 16:58

Of all the supermarket ranges, I'd say Tu is by far the best. The quality is noticeably better.

PerfidiousAlbion · 08/06/2020 17:01

The quality of the material is good, as is the finish but the cut is very unflattering in my experience and definitely size down.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 08/06/2020 17:03

I buy loads from Sainsbury's for me and DD. I do find the children's trousers a bit snug on the legs if you go for jeans, cords or anything that doesn't have much stretch.

Now they've bought out Argos, you can do click n collect and returns at Argos too. Works really well if you can time the 25% TU weeks with using up the £10 off £100 spend vouchers from Argos.

OneJump · 08/06/2020 17:03

The children's stuff washes really well. I've had a lot of really good quality kid's knitwear from there.

dontcallmelen · 08/06/2020 19:01

Yy Sainsbury children’s clothes, wash & wear well, the TU premium range is good I have one of the leather biker jackets & prefer it to my Reiss one, also had some nice quality linen dresses sizing is on the large side though, they also sometimes have some really nice leather sandals.

SunshineCake · 08/06/2020 19:06

All of us have clothes from Tu and they are pretty good.
