Diane Von Fusternberg dress - hot or not?

Before all this (you know what) I picked up a DVF wrap dress in a charity shop for £6. It is the classic style, 100% pure silk and a nice print.

I was surprised to see they sell for about £200 - 300 mark when I looked it up at home.

But, what I don't know is if they are still a classic to be worn or if they are a bit old fashioned?

What do you think?

IMO they are timeless classics. I have a few, they don’t date. Flattering and good for both work/evenings.

Ninkanink · 03/06/2020 16:03

Classic, timeless, doesn’t date.

GrumpyHoonMain · 03/06/2020 16:07

It depends on the design really. Some of the DVF prints have been done to death by the high street. It’s still a bargain though.

Thanks for the replies.

It looks like when the restaurants open I will be good to go!

Hard to say without a pic

Mumsnut · 03/06/2020 16:58

Yes! Picture!

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 03/06/2020 18:39

But I have to take it on my phone and then email it to myself and then upload it mumsnet. That's a few too many processes..maybe later Smile

Classic. Charity shops can turn up these gems occasionally!

BlackSwan · 03/06/2020 18:48

What. Why did I click here. You paid £6 for a dress and want opinions, but you haven't posted a pic.

Time I will never recover.

MarshaBradyo · 03/06/2020 18:49

DvF wrap dresses really suit some people, not me though. So yes classic.

MorticiaAddamsIsMyStyleGuru · 03/06/2020 19:26

Classic. I only own one but every time I wear it I feel wonderful. It's very very flattering. I'd love more. Even better at the price you found yours at! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

WildCherryBlossom · 03/06/2020 19:38

OP you need the Mumsnet app on your phone. Much easier to take pic and upload that way. I'd love to see the print!

I've never had a real DVF. I had a decent copy that I absolutely loved for a few years (it came away with me on honeymoon).

I would love a real one!

wehaveafloater · 03/06/2020 19:48

Oooh a classic ! What a bargain!

Verite1 · 03/06/2020 20:07

Timeless classic. I have several though I don’t wear them much now. But will keep them forever.

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 03/06/2020 20:48

I am a people pleaser - I did all the processes!

It has something with the print so it makes your waist look even smaller.

I also didn't really know how to tie it!

Yes definitely 🥰

DamnShesaSexyChick · 03/06/2020 22:42

Looks gorgeous

shinynewapple2020 · 03/06/2020 22:45

Bargain of the year!

Patsypie · 03/06/2020 22:48

Lucky you. It looks great. Unfortunately they make my tits look like planets.

QuentinQuarantino · 03/06/2020 22:57

Yeah you're rocking that OP 😍.

I do not get the DVF wrap dress love as a rule though. Don't think they're actually all that flattering on curves (which they're always recommended for) and rather than classic, they just look very dated imo, very Lorelei Gilmore circa 2003.
