So the Fat Face one was a bit marmite.. what say you to this one? Better?

Can you try on a dress you have that you like for comparison?

tothesea · 03/06/2020 17:54

I like it on you. The colour suits you and I can see it with white converse I also really like your patchwork quilt but that’s not what you asked

Bobbiepin · 03/06/2020 18:16

It might look better tailored. Move the knot higher and take an inch or two off the bottom.

NeedToKnow101 · 03/06/2020 18:19

Dress is alright, I'm no expert. But I love your patchwork quilt too.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 03/06/2020 18:25

I agree with GreyishDays - it’s fashionable just now and who cares about looking thin!
On the other hand you might have a look at Oliver Bonas - the fabrics aren’t great but their style is pretty good now!

Bobbybobbins · 03/06/2020 18:47

I just bought this Fatface one from eBay. It might not be suitable for work but it's the kind of shape I thought might suit you.

Another thumbs up for the patchwork quilt from me too.

DavetheCat2001 · 03/06/2020 18:51

Thanks for the dress suggestions..that Monsoon one is nice.

Thanks re the quilt! It's very old and comfy! (bit like me!)

I really like it. It’ll look good with white trainers.

FawnDrench · 03/06/2020 19:38

The tie at the side seems to be "dragging" the neckline to that side, so it doesn't look centralised.
You have more skin showing on your right neck side in both pics it seems to me.

DavetheCat2001 · 03/06/2020 19:46

I see what you mean..this board is great for critiquing stuff that I would never normally notice.

I know that this thread is about the dress, but your bed spread is gorgeous and I love your artwork!

The dress is also pretty.

DavetheCat2001 · 03/06/2020 20:35

Thank you @GlubGlubGlub

Our house is a building site at the moment, so lovely to have some nice comments!

I like it with the training shoes and yes, it would look nice with white pumps. Maybe a denim jacket.

Nixee2231 · 03/06/2020 23:46

I would look for something a bit more tailored with a defined waist. It looks like you have a great figure and well-proportioned hourglass figure and this dress is kind of squashing everything down and giving you a rectangular silhouette without a waist.

DavetheCat2001 · 04/06/2020 09:35

I am a bit rectangular..small busted and not much of a waist.

VictoriaBun · 04/06/2020 09:39

How tall are you ?
I ask because I think it should sit higher up on the body, and I think it's too long on you by a few inches .
I'm an expert on this as I'm only 5 ft .

GallopingGreen · 04/06/2020 09:40

I think it's lovely on you OP. Will look lovely with trainers/sandals etc
I also love the style of your bedroom!

EmperorCovidula · 04/06/2020 09:43

It’s boring yet fussy at the same time.

This would look nice on you www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/clothing/dresses-tunics/narcissi-modal-cotton-midi-dress-spring-border-harbour.htm

Buggedandconfused · 04/06/2020 09:46

I think it looks great! Keep it! It’s figure skimming and casual - looks like it would be nice and easy to wear.

wowfudge · 04/06/2020 09:48

The knot still needs to be a bit higher up where your natural waist is and possibly a bit tighter. It's a nice dress on you but not a showstopper.
