Well, I finally plucked up the courage to dye my hair at home...

...and I think it’s come out well! I got DH to do it, using a colour from e:salon.

£14, and I usually pay £90 for a cut and colour. I cut my own fringe for zilch.

I really, really recommend it.

Yup AnyFucker - it naturally looks like a bad blonde dye job Confused

Wow OP, I use eSalon too and we have the exact same colour!Grin
Looks very nice.

BecomingMe · 23/05/2020 16:07

I think it looks nicer than the blonde!

PersephoneandHades · 23/05/2020 16:08

Looks lovely Smile

Pinkarsedfly · 23/05/2020 16:12

It’s a really good service, isn’t it @haverhill?

Ok I just ordered from esalon based on this thread! Did you send a pic in to help them choose a colour for you, OP?

DeborahAnnabelToo · 23/05/2020 16:15

Sorry I should have added, your hair looks great!

MortyFide · 23/05/2020 16:21

Ooh, that looks good. I'm sporting grey roots and and old dark brown salon colour, fading back to a bad salon bleach job.

After seeing catty comments on here about box dye I haven't dared do my own again...besides, I hate doing it.

squeekums · 23/05/2020 16:26

Khaki hair

Like mousey brown, my natural colour
Its just....... no

BumbleNova · 23/05/2020 16:28

I'm really glad you have had a good result with esalon. Mine on the other is a beautiful shade of ginger when it should have been mid blonde... I'm getting my money back I hope. Total disaster!

AnyFucker · 23/05/2020 16:29

Eek

Mummyoflittledragon · 23/05/2020 16:32

That doesn’t look like the same person. I’d have thought you were sisters. I really like your new colour btw. The blonde was nice. But it seems like the current trend is for darker colours right now, which is reflected in the dye you chose.

Pinkarsedfly · 23/05/2020 16:37

I did send a pic in, yes.

Sorry it didn’t work out for you, Bumblenova

I did the same OP with e.salon. My colour is very similar...I use Dark Blonde (strawberry) over my previously bleached blonde hair and it looks great. Definitely recommend 👍

BumbleNova · 23/05/2020 16:40

Clearly red is their forte, asked for or not!

Does anyone have any bright ideas about anything I can do to combat the ginger?! It's only my roots which is almost worse.

Nosurveysneeded · 23/05/2020 16:41

It looks lovely and suits you.

haverhill · 23/05/2020 16:47

Yes, I really rate them. My hair’s in good nick despite being dyed for decades. I think my mix is warm blonde with 10% copper.

haverhill · 23/05/2020 16:49

..and a colourist actually rang me when I first started as she didn’t think what I wanted would work for me based on my photo. She was right.

wehaveafloater · 23/05/2020 16:57

Oooh what colour is that @Pinkarsedfly ? Look brilliant on you !!

rookiemere · 23/05/2020 17:02

Lovely colour really suits you. I went blue temporarily but have shyed away from permanent colour. I should have a semi permanent copper colour coming shortly.

Deathraystare · 23/05/2020 17:54

I did mine last night - Nutrisse Golden Brown. Feel so much more human! I told my colleagues that the only thing stopping me from being ravishingly stunning is my grey streaks -yeah as if!!! It does look lovely though (I think so anyway).

Pinkarsedfly · 23/05/2020 18:40

@wehaveafloater - just cooking dinner, I’ll pop up later and have a look. They blend them individually, depending on how you fill in the questionnaire and the pic you send in, though.

Pinkarsedfly · 23/05/2020 20:53

It’s Dark Blonde (Copper Mahogany)

wehaveafloater · 23/05/2020 21:44

Fab thanks, I'm doing an order based with that colour too !

MrsEricBana · 23/05/2020 22:23

Love the new colour OP. Agree you look younger. I would have thought paler would be softer and more flattering but it's poss a bit draining. Really fab!
