Is Elastersizer the best hair treatment?

I’ve just run out of this and I have a little olaplex left.

So I need to order a new hair treatment as I want to get into the habit of doing this regularly.

My hair is mid length with half a head highlighted (now with 2inch roots :) ) the ends are a little dry.

What treatments are you lovely ladies loving?

Pureology moisture mask ( in a purple tub!) amazing stuff.. the shampoo and conditioner is lovely too

DeRigueurMortis · 22/05/2020 01:45

It's old school but I still get great results from V05 hot oil - especially if I leave it in for an hour or more.

I've had Elasticizer in the past and tbh thought that whilst it was nice it was no more effective than the hot oil and far more expensive.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/05/2020 07:24

Superdrug’s Arian oil pre shampoo elasticiser is very good and is cruelty free.

Alwaysthesun · 22/05/2020 08:01

I find hair food really good as a cheaper option. I prefer the fruity based ones to the nut ones.

SouthWestmom · 22/05/2020 08:25

I've been using it once a week for three months on fairly dry curly uncoloured hair and it's not made the slightest difference.

PammieDooveOrangeJoof · 22/05/2020 08:26

Yep to the Superdrug one, it’s amazing and I preferred it to the PK one

BikerChick91 · 22/05/2020 08:27

I prefer the Kerastase deep conditioning masks.

Karcheer · 22/05/2020 09:17

@bikerchick91 that’s interesting I use Kerastase shampoo and conditioner. Which one do you use?

You need to go with the one that would work best for your hair type though. There’s one for coloured hair, curly etc.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 22/05/2020 09:24

And if you want a non heretic hair treatment Superdrug's Argan oil elasticiser is also very good. Wink

KedsAndTubeSocks · 22/05/2020 09:27

V05 hotoil @DeRigueurMortis - now there's a blast from the past! I didn't realise they still made it. Grin

BikerChick91 · 22/05/2020 09:41

@Ihopeyourcakeisshit

What does non heretic mean? I thought it was something to do with the bible ConfusedBlush.

I did buy the Superdrug one when it first came out but didn’t rate it for my problem hair.

efc1878 · 22/05/2020 10:20

Bed head mask in lovely.

RusticaRubra · 22/05/2020 10:24

My hair has been in the best condition of my life ever since I’ve done Keratin treatments, at home.

RusticaRubra · 22/05/2020 10:26

You can make your own hot oils. Buy a base oil e.g. jojoba and add a few essential oils to make a fab smell and then warm it up in an oil burner, then paint on hair for however long you fancy, wash and rinse.

HasaDigaEebowai · 22/05/2020 10:28

You can't get better than Olaplex IMO. My hair is very long (waist length), very thick and balayaged. Olaplex does wonders for it, particularly if left on overnight. I know its very expensive but its worth it.

CorianderLord · 22/05/2020 12:12

Shea Moisture does good masks

HermioneWeasley · 22/05/2020 12:15

The ends of my hair are so dry/processed and crunchy. I’m despairing. I’ve cut a cm off and it’s slightly better but still not great. Any recommendations?

saucyspice · 22/05/2020 12:21

I also really like the Olaplex no 3 treatment - makes my hair feel much healthier and bouncier after!

Flippinfurloughed · 22/05/2020 13:00

This has confused me more than ever, I need everyone to agree on one so I can slim down my basket Grin

Mnthrowaway20202 · 22/05/2020 15:15

There’s different types of hair treatments though so there isn’t a product that does everything.

I’m sure the elasticiser is a protein based treatment, so if you use it too much it will actually dry your hair out (as will olaplex).

Separately there’s moisturising treatments like conditioning masks or keratin treatments

Mnthrowaway20202 · 22/05/2020 15:16

My personal fave is the kerastase colour protect mask (pink tub)

I also really liked olaplex (salon treatment)

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 22/05/2020 15:17

@BikerChick91 It was in reference to @Fluffycloudland77 comment about Arian oil.
Just me trying to be funny and failing miserably Blush

Karcheer · 22/05/2020 19:41

@Mnthrowaway20202 so whats a good non protein one then? this week I've done Olaplaex and Elastaziser and my hair currently feels pretty good.
