Thanks everyone spoken to GP and he's prescribing difflam and a nasal spray that may help. He just said carry on with correct dose, don't worry about food, just drink. If not significantly better by Thursday we will need a rethink. They aren't allowed to look down throats at the moment! I could take a photo, her tonsils are amazing. He's concerned she may have glandular fever which surprised me a bit.
@EllaPaella the cardigan is lovely, I have two 'Holey/ lacy jumpers which I love but hardly wear because they are see through. Are you wearing a camisole? I adore my sandals and so happy I bit the bullet because they were expensive but they make me feel like I'm in the med!

EllaPaella · 01/06/2020 12:56

@Sooverthemill yes I have a black lacy cami underneath the jumper.

MerlinsButler · 01/06/2020 13:22

@happytobemrsg thank you. Sorry it's very old and was a Tatty Devine / Rob Ryan collaboration.

MerlinsButler · 01/06/2020 13:24

@happytobemrsg this was the collection they did. I have seen some bits for sale over the years. Might be worth keeping an eye open for them. robryanstudio.com/archive/tatty-devine-fine-collection/

MerlinsButler · 01/06/2020 13:26

@EllaPaella I really love that jumper / cardigan.

@Sooverthemill hope your daughter feels better soon.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses lovely dress.

Hello. I'm new to mumsnet and am delighted to discover a style and beauty board. This thread looks fun, and I'd like to join you all if you don't mind?
I've just turned 40 and am 2 years post separation from my husband. I think I'm in a bit of a fug when it comes to getting myself up and dressed for the day at the moment. I've just spent the past two months mooning around the house in my pyjamas, so hopefully this thread will motivate me some.

EllaPaella · 01/06/2020 14:32

Welcome @quantumdog we'd love you to
join us Smile

quantumdog · 01/06/2020 14:33

Great! Thank you. I better take a photo I guess. 🙈

quantumdog · 01/06/2020 14:36

I'm just about to take the dog and the kids out for a walk to the post office in this gorgeous sunshine.
Wearing an old Porridge @ Anthropologie dress and red salties.

You lot are all very well put together and I'm feeling inspired already!

@quantumdog welcome to the board. Lovely dress. Is that bicycles on the pattern?

Completely unrelated but where is your peacock feather lamp from? I love it.

Sickoffamilydrama · 01/06/2020 15:16

Like that dress @quantumdog and the wall colour behind you.
I didn't post yesterday as just wearing old gear and organised the garden. Eventually we will finish it although it's a lot better than it was.
Today I've got a Boden dress that was given to me so great value!

Gorgeous dress @quantumdog

Softpebbles · 01/06/2020 15:36

I’ve not posted for a while as had some annual leave and been skinning in shorts or a play suit! Today working so denim shorts and a jack wills T-shirt! I need to iron some of my summer clothes. Have some lovely dresses that I could wear but don’t!

I’ve been looking at saltwater sandals but I am a 6.5 so in between sizes. I should own up to the white stan smiths I recently bought!

quantumdog · 01/06/2020 16:58

Thank you all. I found this thread late last night and didn't end up going to sleep until well past my bed time as a result. You've motivated me to get up and get dressed today, so thanks again. Smile

The lamp shade came from Etsy and the lamp itself is an old Laura Ashley my sister bought me. The wall behind the bed is Dulux Sapphire Salute....I love it!

Yes, it's bicycles on the print. I like this dress because it's a little longer than most of my other summer dresses and I need to cover my lockdown thighs for a few weeks at least!

MerlinsButler · 01/06/2020 18:19

@quantumdog thanks. That bicycle print is even more gorgeous close up.

happytobemrsg · 01/06/2020 19:16

They are really beautiful @MerlinsButler I love pretty necklaces.

Welcome @quantumdog! Love your dress, reminds me of some of the fun prints Boden does on their dresses. I think my mum has shoes, bees & birds!

Set to be 26 here tomorrow 😎

OublietteBravo · 02/06/2020 08:05

Welcome to the thread @quantumdog. Nice dress.

I love your new jumper @EllaPaella - it’s beautiful. I’m jealous that you can wear that colour - I really can’t.

Hope your DD feels better soon @Sooverthemill. Have you planned an exciting kitchen?

I virtuously packed up lots of things I’d ordered but only quite liked yesterday. If I don’t love it, I don’t need it. I’d like to go through my wardrobe and sort through my summer stuff, but I’m a bit worried about doing it during lockdown when I’m not really wearing office wear.

Today looks to be the last hot and sunny day for a while. Which definitely means dress and sandals.

Dress: Warehouse
Sandals: Boden

Sooverthemill · 02/06/2020 09:20

Hot and sunny here. My kind of weather. DD is still dreadful and I’m at a loss. GP has twice said he’s concerned it may be glandular fever ( that would be cruel irony as that was what her initial diagnosis was in 2013 but never tested). I have to keep a close eye on her temp

@OublietteBravo I came on to suggest you check out Baukjen sale! I think there’s a few dresses you would rock! But you are being good so ignore me. My Baukjen tees arrived last week and they are good as did my face masks from them and lavender hill. The kitchen isn’t exciting in itself shaker Painted wooden units Probably ( we always end up with those) but I’ve gone to Hemingway and Neptune to start and then will probably end up with magnet! My best kitchen was designed by plain English but they couldn’t meet our timescale so we paid for their plan and took it to a builder who built it for us. We will remove a window put in a door and have big galley with the other end table and sofa. But we are also converting garage to big utility/dog room and small study for DH. Had to check our restrictive covenants but looks like we can.

Tee: Fwp by Rae ( present from DD)
Shorts: Boden
Sandals: Birkenstock’s

It's super warm already here today.

Dunga shorts - Lucy & Yak (having been unsure about these initially I'm now totally sold on them, hoping my tie dye ones will arrive today!)

Belt - Lucy & Yak

Outfit change, my tie-dye dunga shorts arrived and I adore them, so had to put them on straight away!

I swapped my floral dungarees for them on a FB group. I was a bit worried as I loved the florals, even if they were too big, but I'm so, so glad I did now. These are a bit baggy, really, but it does makes them so, so comfy, and I adore the colours. So pleased!

Sooverthemill · 02/06/2020 10:03

@toast love them both!

MerlinsButler · 02/06/2020 10:20

@oubliettebravo that a lovely dress and a lovely skirt @Softpebbles I wish I was braver with prints.

Love that next kimono @ClientQ

Love that T-shirt and shorts combo @Sooverthemill your kitchen / extension project sounds fun. We're doing ours next year. Got to start thinking about it now as we have to have the house rewired first so want to make sure I have enough sockets. And I'm determined to have a walk in pantry - just got to work out where to build it.

@toastfiend love both sets of dungarees but the tie dye ones especially. I love that colour. I always think of turquoise/ light blue as such a fun summer colour.

Day off today so walked the dog so very dull outfit. and then off to my mums this afternoon so I'll get changed later.

Shorts - fat face
T-shirt - matalan
