Dyson air wrap

Is it worth it? Hubby was going to treat me to one at Christmas. I was uncomfortable with the cost and asked on here and people recommended the Parlux range. So I have a Parlux hairdryer now which I love but I keep seeing the gorgeous ringlets at the bottom hair dos on people and when I ask, it's from the dyson air wrap. Anyone have one?

Yep I've had one since Jan 19. I bought the full set and have used all the attachments regularly. It's really easy to use and the curls it gives are lovely.

Yes I do, it is amazing and really easy to use. Strongly recommended! The cost is silly but I've had mine 18 months now and it's still like new, use it every day as a hairdryer and the drying brush is brilliant too for smooth volume.

I have v fine and thin hair and it's never looked so healthy. Everyone spent a couple of months last year asking me what I'd done differently to my hair as it looked so good!

I think it works on some hairtypes. Sadly my bobbed, naturally wavy fine hair did not do well.

The finish is never as good as straighteners.
The curls were nowhere near as finished as a curling iron.

I kept it for 3 weeks. I tried each appliance several times, but it was not worth the money.

I've got one. From QVC last January. I haven't got the hang of the ringlet thing at all. I've tried a few times and it dropped straight away, and my hair usually holds a curl really well.
I like the fact that you don't need a separate brush. I don't have great hair at all and it does make it look better.

Yes, I have the one for fine hair and it's marvellous. Day to day I use the brush or round attachment but the curling one gives gorgeous waves.

I previously had a parlux and it's great, and lasted 16 years but this is easier for me to use.

You have to do the curls from wet or they don't last. I do each section on the highest heat, hold it there for at least 30 secs or more until dry and then hold the cold switch for 30-60 secs. Then spray with hairspray. The curls last until the next day. I have fine, wavy, very unruly hair and a lot of it!

I'm confused by all the different types - the volume and shape, the style and control. Which one is best if I want smooth hair with volume one day but maybe curls at the bottom the next?

Also does it ever go on sale??

Ooh I've been looking at these for ages, but haven't been able to justify the cost.

Do they work well on shorter hair? I've got just above shoulder length and feel like I wouldn't be able to achieve curls with this length - so would be just a super expensive hairdryer only?
I'd love to hire one for a month and see if they're worth it! 🤔

It never goes on sale. Try to get one from QVC on easy pay. Their returns policy is outstanding. If you don't get on with it, send it back.

I had one and it was awful
It was faulty and didn't work in fact it really damaged my hair. It took ages to get a refund as dyson wanted me to go for lessons on how to use it. I used someone else's and it worked.
In the end a burning smell started happening and it cut out after 4 months of "use" so curry's refunded me as they had no stock to replace it

I got one at Christmas - absolutely love it and cannot imagine being without it!

I was also about the cost but now I have it, totally worth it!

I (normally) have shoulder length hair (it's much longer now ) and get the most amazing curls with it. There are 2 different sized barrels for curls or looser waves so I can vary it depending on what I want. Really easy to use aswell.

I don't use the smoothing brushes as I rarely want straight hair.

I'd love to have lessons on how to use it!

I bought one at the start of lockdown figuring I wouldn't be seeing anyone so could get used to it without people seeing any disasters! I've got long (mid back length), very thick hair and I mostly wanted it it try and get rid of some of the frizz I get at the back.

I absolutely love it! I'm notoriously awful at doing my own hair so have only attempted the curls once, but the brush has changed my life! Wet to controlled, almost straight hair in 20 minutes whereas in the past it would be 30 minutes to blow dry and then an hour to straighten. And my hair feels like silk. Will be having another go with the curls when I have time, but for me it was worth it for the results from the brush alone.

Sent mine back, was disappointed as it made lovely curls, and a great style however it didn’t tame the frizz at the roots of my hair. Dyson were fab, they send a courier to collect it.

I can't get the curls to work but it has been worth it for the fast drying and the volume in my swingy bob.

Is it better to get the full set or go for the specific ones. My hair is flat and fine but frizzy unless I blow dry it! If I leave it to dry naturally it's puffy at the bottom and frizzy but smooths our nicely with a hairdryer and brush

I wouldn't buy the full set. I've never used the wider curl barrels.

I regularly use both sizes of barrels as so sometimes I like tight curls and other times, I want looser ones. I like having the option

It has transformed my life. From having difficult hair I have bouncy hair

It doesn’t go on sale but Boots have Christmas offers. I got £50 in points with my hairdryer and I think £60 of points with my airwrap. I’ve had my hairdryer two and half years and my Airwrap a year and a half.

Step 1 is identify your hair type. Mine is thick, frizzy and bra length. I got the Smooth and Control set. I love mine so much that if it was stolen in a burglary I wouldn’t leave the house until it was replaced.

Curls: start from damp hair, use your product of choice (mines Lee Stafford Curling mousse), and take your time. You can’t put too much on the wand or firstly it won’t grab and secondly it won’t take. Use a long cool shot at the end, pin the curl up until you’re finished then use your hairspray and unpin. There’s a Facebook group called Dyson Airwrap Styling Tips UK.

I usually use the firm brush attachment Day to day. It makes me look sleek and groomed but i don’t look ‘Helmet head’ like you can do with too much straightening from GHDs etc. The curls I do for going out etc I love it because I look more pulled together, groomed etc

I love mine - I blow dry as I normally would on the top half but rough dry the bottom half... then use the dyson after spraying some heat protector. For best results I loosely clip the curls up for 10 mins. I finish with hairspray.

When I dry my hair normally, I use the hair dryer and a round brush. I like a bit of lift at the roots but the other main thing I use it for is to smooth it out. It's a bit frizzy unless I dry it with a hair dryer and brush. Which air wrap would I need? I'm rubbish at curling my hair but want the glamorous ringlet effect at the bottom of my hair I think
