Also, I don't know if other posters will agree but I think Nars is a very good all round - the powder foundation is great for people with acne (doesn't make it worse) and the eyeshadows and blushers have a lot of pigment. The clear loose powder is very good too.
The Laura mercier photo finish foundation is very good, especially the oil free one for people with acne - mine calmed right down after I started using it. The Laura mercier concealer in a pot is very good too.
I just got the Anastasia Beverley hills contour powder set. I'm undecided so far, but maybe I'm not very good at it, although it seems better than others I've tried.
I liked the Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow pencil a lot and I'd really rate the Double Wear eyeliner pencil
Another brand I would say is very overrated and overpriced like CT is Tom Ford. It's horribly expensive and I thought their eye shadows were poorly pigmented, their foundations too oily, the bronzers too orange. However, their lipsticks are especially good.
Some of the other very expensive lines aren't very good either. Burberry was rubbish.
I don't think Mac is as good as it was but the eyeshadows are still quite good.
I think Bobbi brown are pretty decent.
Urban decay and benefit are quite good for powders/eyeshadows but I found Too Faced stuff was awful - shiny and tacky.
I'd really like to know what other posters think about Hourglass as I've been looking at their stuff for ages
I think I spend too much time looking at makeup
