Olaplex. Worth the money?

Hoolajerry · 04/05/2020 10:33

I am thinking of getting some. I have number 3,4 and 5 in my basket. It's £65 so a lot of money. I am going for the right starter combo and is it worth the money? I also have a very sensitive scalp so a lot to splash out.

To be honest I noticed no difference at all. To be fair my hair is quite strong anyway despite being coloured but i would definitely not repurchase.

Luckyonetwo · 04/05/2020 10:56

Yes

Luckyonetwo · 04/05/2020 10:59

Sorry yes it’s worth it. I do have strong healthy hair but I also use bleach I only use it every 10 days or so so does seem to last ages.

emma6776 · 04/05/2020 11:05

I’ve just got 3. I think it’s worth it. I also want the shampoo and conditioner now but trying to use what I already have first!

DariaMorgendorffer · 04/05/2020 21:32

100% worth it. Saved my bleached hair.

lokoho · 04/05/2020 21:35

Worth it, but you don't need all of them. Just #3. Comb it through clean washed hair and leave overnight. Wash out and condition over in the morning.

It feels weird before you wash it out!

Girlintheframe · 05/05/2020 21:26

Didn't work for me unfortunately

saucyspice · 06/05/2020 22:22

I really like the no 3 treatment. I don't usually bother with hair masks etc as I have fine hair and they just make it limp and greasy. The no 3 treatment just makes my hair feel healthier and bouncier without weighing my hair down. I use it every 5/6 weeks which seems to be enough so one bottles lasted me at least 5 months so far.

Pinkvici22 · 06/05/2020 22:32

Used number 3 for the first time last night and already it’s incredible.

Hoolajerry · 06/05/2020 22:37

I've ordered so we shall see. Hoping for good results

I use the shampoo and conditioner daily, I have fine hair that is shoulder length and bleached, it's never been in better condition. I do think the No3 is the best product of all three although rationing it at the moment. Shampoo and conditioner last about 3 months with a daily wash

CremeDeSudo · 07/05/2020 08:26

What does it do? Why is it so incredible? (Baa)

lokoho · 07/05/2020 21:12

It repairs the bonds in damaged strands - if they are damaged in a specific way (usually by bleach).

Nope. Well not in my experience anyway. Had lovely shiny hair when I left the salon but the first time I washed my hair it was back to normal. Suspect salon didn’t apply it properly but hard to prove. Nevertheless I won’t waste my money on it again.

UnderLockdown · 08/05/2020 20:35

I really like number 3

nzeire · 08/05/2020 22:15

I’m dark and frizzy, I like number 3, I do it overnight and it feels more settled and healthier. I’ll continue to use. Tried 6 and 7, wont repurchase those (luxury but underwhelming results)

Hoolajerry · 09/05/2020 21:18

Well I used it today and actually I have to say my hair feels great. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

I don't bother with the no.3. I have the no.1 for adding to bleach and toners and the no.2 for afterwards. Sometimes I do standalone treatments with the no.1 and 2. It is really good and means I still have hair in relatively good condition despite copious bleaching.

I've also recently started using Innoluxe which is also brilliant, if not better.

NuovaMoi · 16/05/2020 09:24

I'm a massive fan of No 3, never tried the rest

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 16/05/2020 12:11

Amazon are offering the number 3 with 25% discount on subscribe and save (you can cancel the subscription).. I just bought some to try and repair my lockdown home bleach experiment (hair turned into straw) so hope you ladies are right!

CrystalEssenceHall · 16/05/2020 15:15

@lokoho At the risk of sounding stupid - how do you do this? How does it work without your pillow getting wet?

QQQQQQ123 · 16/05/2020 16:17

I have 4 and 5, made a really difference to my highlighted hair, even my hairdresser noticed.

ClumsyChump · 16/05/2020 16:21

@CrystalEssenceHall I don't use Olaplex but with the Aveda similar I dampen my hair in the morning and put it on before a run.
By the time I'm back and showering it's been on about an hour.
Seems to work.

Horses4 · 16/05/2020 16:24

Number 3 is lovely, makes my hair soft and swishy despite 25 years of colouring. I love it.
