Who else is seriously overdue their Danny wax during lockdown?

I feel like a gorilla.

Usually have a full Hollywood every 4 weeks, it’s now been 6 weeks!

What is everyone else doing? Do I leave it fully alone until a get to see my waxing lady, can I have a little tidy up with a razor or is there some other miracle product I could use in the meantime without messing up my hair growth ‘cycle’ for when I can get back to waxing? I’ve just had a tidy up on the bikini line with a pair of tweezers Blush

Same issue with Danny here. Less choice as would have to ask DMother to help shave. Worried about first wax though. I let things go once due to medical treatment and one beautician wouldn’t do anything unless I did a haircut first.

At least I realise it is my own comfort rather than that I care about what others think of me.

MyHairNeedsASnip · 22/04/2020 10:45

I've waxed my own eyebrows though! That went quite well. I'm not going to attempt the thighbrows.

I have a question. Will waxing hurt as much as it did the first time, now there's been a massive break?

LochJessMonster · 22/04/2020 10:48

Same here!
I used Veet last night but it’s not as good as a wax.

I started doing laser treatment for my underarms just before lockdown and I’m considering it for my bikini line too

bluebluezoo · 22/04/2020 10:52

I was reading this thread thinking about how if lockdown ended suddenly there'd be a ton of people delaying their return to work until they could get their beauty appointments!

Sad reflection of society that people (women) feel they can’t leave the house without attending “beauty appointments”.

My job involves social media and i can hand on heart say every woman i’ve come across looks far better au naturel than plucked, tanned, waxed, contoured and pouting.

Personally i hope that this lockdown makes people realise they look much better a bit natural.

I'm shaving for now and using an epilator around the sides. I'm absolutely dreading going back to have it all waxed off because I know it's going to hurt like hell after such a long break, but trimming/shaving takes up way too much time and I can't leave it alone completely!! Toying with the idea of a home wax but I'm not sure I'm brave enough!!

StarlightLady · 22/04/2020 12:10

I just whizz round my Danny with a razor and hair condtioner in the shower each morning. Any hairs missed one day, gets caught the next.

TurnOffTheTv · 22/04/2020 12:14

My waxing lady sent an email out to everyone to say please don't shave, but use the hair clippers to keep it under control until we can get back and see her!

BrooHaHa · 22/04/2020 12:27

Great thread, OP! Haven't laughed so much in days.

I was eyeing up the lawnmower this morning....

I'm a Veet girl. Far too scared to go for a wax!

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 22/04/2020 13:37

Have often referred to it as getting my Danny done so I am glad to see this!

I'm using veet, stinks like a dead rat but doesn't give me the rash you get from shaving

ThisIsM · 22/04/2020 14:06

Does anyone else find it really tricky shaving the underneath bit and around your bum? Blush How do people keep this up on a daily basis! I am desperate to try laser but need to save up first.

Candyflosscookie · 22/04/2020 14:20

Beard clippers are your friend OP. Don't shave if at all possible but keep it trim until you can get waxed again. It'll hurt a lot less than the shaving regrowth when it's whipped off by waxy lady.

AuntieMarys · 22/04/2020 15:02

I normally have a Hollywood. The bikini line itself is lasered. Not enjoying the growth but am not touching it. Have warned beautician it way need a longer appointments than usual.
DH is enjoying it, but then his opinion matters not a jot.

Windyatthebeach · 22/04/2020 15:04

Great now you all have my worried why adlut dd wanted to borrow our secateurs!!

minipie · 22/04/2020 15:06

Let it grow, let it grow

(Can’t hold it back any mo-o-ore)

Lellochip · 22/04/2020 15:17

I had one session of laser before lockdown, my next one was due yesterday 😏

Scarlettwaffle · 22/04/2020 15:39

Ooh @TurnOffTheTv I'm wondering if we go to the same salon as mine did too! Nottingham/Leicester?

I luckily had an appointment the week before lockdown so I'm only just starting to notice it becoming "unbearable"
I think I'll probably try trimming with a clipper to keep it short, but I'm not too bothered if I'm not going to be in my swimwear in public any time soon.

I would rather have hair than itchy stubble rash! I do it for me, not DH, he couldn't care less really! Smile
