Who else is seriously overdue their Danny wax during lockdown?

I feel like a gorilla.

Usually have a full Hollywood every 4 weeks, it’s now been 6 weeks!

What is everyone else doing? Do I leave it fully alone until a get to see my waxing lady, can I have a little tidy up with a razor or is there some other miracle product I could use in the meantime without messing up my hair growth ‘cycle’ for when I can get back to waxing? I’ve just had a tidy up on the bikini line with a pair of tweezers Blush

Idk, but Danni Wax is a great drag queen name!

VenusClapTrap · 21/04/2020 19:35

Danny is long and luxuriant here.

Notredamn · 21/04/2020 19:56

I don't think you're very gorilla-like if you've tidied up your bikini line with a pair of tweezers. I was eyeing up the lawnmower this morning....

SpyApp · 21/04/2020 19:59

Oh ffs I've got Danny Dyer capering around in tights in my head singing 'I'm Hen er y the 8th I am I am'

ticking · 21/04/2020 20:03

Laser hair removal is your friend here - I had a course of 6 treatments -now no need to wax again, ever!! Best thing I did.

Also had lower leg done and they would have done armpits too as a deal (but felt funny about having armpits done for some reason!)

ticking · 21/04/2020 20:03

(after lockdown of course!)

Verily1 · 21/04/2020 20:03

Danny likes to be left well alone thanks!

missanony · 21/04/2020 20:07

Sorry to be cheeky @ticking but how much was that? & was it painful? I’m a wuss. I’d love underarms & bikini.

Do you have to do nothing at all now? Are you dark haired?

WhizzingFizzbee · 21/04/2020 20:07

If you need a proper tidy up just use a fresh razor ideally with some shaving cream, I don’t get razor burn that way and it ends up as soft as a baby’s bum Grin I can get away with it for a few days without repeating.

FizzyPink · 21/04/2020 20:08

I’m in the same position and hating it! I had a tidy up with DPs beard trimmer but am much too scared to do the underneath bit so it’s all a bit patchy Blush

FizzyPink · 21/04/2020 20:09

@ticking what kind of hair/skin tone do you have? I had 8 Hollywood laser treatments a few years ago and still need regular waxes, it probably only got rid of about 40% of it

ticking · 21/04/2020 20:12

@missanony

It was a bit painful, but frankly over quite quickly!! It was less painful than waxing.

I probably chose an expensive place as I was worried about getting somewhere that would do it right, so it was £900, but there was another place that was £700.... And just the danny area was cheaper....like £400ish.

But i figured I was getting my danny waxed at £30 a time, so it paid for itself in 14 waxings... I did legs as well as it was sucessful.

bellinisurge · 21/04/2020 20:14

Could you not just leave Danny alone?

ticking · 21/04/2020 20:14

@Turnedouttoes, I'm a pale skinned brunette, apparently ideal for laser treatment! Seriously though I has tonnes of course hair (attractive lol Grin ) and it got rid of all of it. I still have a bit on my legs but nothing that shows.

cravingthelook · 21/04/2020 20:19

I'm using a set of clippers to keep it short and under control until my next Danny. I don't want to start shaving either.

ticking · 21/04/2020 20:21

@turnedouttoes I went with these people www.destinationskin.com/

Maybe paying a bit more was worth it.

Sittinonthefloor · 21/04/2020 20:22

£900! Is that the whole Danny or just the side burns? You can little trimmers for about £10, as long as nobody does a close inspection it’s fine for the overspill.

FizzyPink · 21/04/2020 20:56

Ahh @ticking maybe that’s why mine didn’t work so well. I’m quite olive skinned but blonde hair. I went with Skn who I think are supposed to be quite good

MyHairNeedsASnip · 21/04/2020 21:12

My Danny is getting the lumea treatment while I've got nothing better to do. The Readers Wives positions I'm having to get into in front of the mirror are, quite frankly, horrifying.

EngagedAgain · 21/04/2020 22:10

Good job there's not any window cleaning being done at the mo then 😂😂

BatshitCrazyWoman · 22/04/2020 05:48

My skin hates being waxed so I've always shaved. Danny looks like it usually does 😂

I had laser in the past - it isn't permanent - eventually some hair will regrow so you'll need 'top ups'. The Danny area was the only place I could have it - I'm pale but so is the hair on my legs, so not enough 'contrast' for laser to work!

frazzledasarock · 22/04/2020 05:56

Was wandering about this. I attempted a home Danny wax. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I’m going to invest in a lumea I think.

Namesgonenow · 22/04/2020 06:12

This should go in the classics @mnhq

dudsville · 22/04/2020 07:25

I was reading this thread thinking about how if lockdown ended suddenly there'd be a ton of people delaying their return to work until they could get their beauty appointments!

titsbumfannythelot · 22/04/2020 08:00

Could you buy hot wax online and DDY (do Danny yourself)

I'm not sure I'm brave or desperate enough. Yet.
