What do you wear on bottom half during nice weather?

Shorts don’t really suit me & too hot in jeans. What do you wear in warm weather whilst stuck at home? I have lots of nice tops but nothing to wear them with.

Sorry I didn’t mean they just don’t suit me, I just don’t find them very comfortable and i just want to be comfortable. Thanks for all the suggestions

Long jeans or trousers. Never wear any trousers that are not full length. If I wear a dress I always wear tights as well, regardless of weather

Littlemiss74 · 10/04/2020 13:08

I like the look of midi skirts on other people but always think they look a bit odd on me as I’m quite short, like they swamp me a bit. Any other shorter people find them ok? What’s the best kind of top to wear with them?

Harem pants maxi dresses jumpsuits if I have fake tanned shorts and play suits

GreyishDays · 10/04/2020 13:11

Linen trousers here.

Alfiemoon1 · 10/04/2020 13:12

I am short and I don’t think midi skirts suit me especially if they are just below the knee it’s an odd length of me and makes me look like I am wearing someone else’s clothes

RedRed9 · 10/04/2020 13:17

@happymummy12345 do you not get overly hot? What about if you were to go on holiday?

@alfiemoon1 I spent a good few seconds trying to work out what ‘fake tanned shorts’ were. 😂

FireandFury · 10/04/2020 13:20

I tend to wear dresses OP.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/04/2020 13:21

I'm short and fat (size 14 but have always been slim until the last 2 years) and wear midi skirts a lot. Being older and bigger has taught me that nobody really gives a toss anyway. It's been remarkably liberating.

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 10/04/2020 14:49

RedRed9 I have a big tummy but I always make sure I wear a top that covers it and I wear a long line vest top that sucks me in a bit too!

dkanin I just bought a black one on Littlewoods this morning (I'm in Ireland so I think it's Very in UK?) And there's an animal print one I've my eye on there too!

dkanin · 10/04/2020 15:01

@DrinkSangriaInThePark thank you! I'll have a look at Very, I used to have a skirt like that from H&M but I think they stopped selling them

BlueCowWonders · 10/04/2020 15:05

Xiaoxiong - that look is spot on for Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon. I love the look but am apple shaped so it really doesn't suit me unfortunately

browzingss · 10/04/2020 15:07

Dresses inc oversized t shirts

Skirts

Cycling shorts

PhoneLock · 10/04/2020 15:46

Short shorts or a mini mini skirt.

Mini mini skirt today.

Ninkanink · 10/04/2020 16:24

During lockdown I’m wearing pyjamas/loungewear/nighties/nightshirts. I don’t wear these to sleep in so they’re usually evening wear or weekend morning wear. I’ve just extended it to all day during lockdown. I highly recommend it! Smile

BaroleCaskin · 10/04/2020 16:26

I wear dresses or long tops with cycling shorts underneath (skintight, stretchy, very comfy material!) incase the wind blows my dress up!

DelphiniumBlue · 10/04/2020 16:27

Knee length leggings and a longish loose t-shirt or knitted linen jumper. Flip flops if in the garden, otherwise bare feet.

millionaireshortie · 10/04/2020 17:16

@DrinkSangriaInThePark where to you get them for a tenner? And what underwear do you wear that doesn't show through?

millionaireshortie · 10/04/2020 17:18

@NW2SW - where do you get the cullottes please?

Littlemiss74 · 10/04/2020 17:31

A couple of years ago I got some really comfy trousers from next. They were kind of jersey material, quite loose but tapered towards the bottom. As Next is currently closed, anyone know where I might get something similar online now? Not too pricey please.

bookish83 · 10/04/2020 17:59

@Littlemiss74

M&s, asos, matalan, and h&m do those. 'Tapered peg trousers' 'hareem' 'jogger trousers' or search under 'yoga trousers'

M&S do nice yoga ones as they have a less structured waist band so can sit lower on the hips if needed

Usually you can get lots of patterns too. I like them though depends on your shape to where the waistband fits! I always wish they were lower rise ones. X

AgeLikeWine · 10/04/2020 18:05

Shorts. Sod what they look like, comfort is the priority.

Neednewwellies · 10/04/2020 18:08

Last year I bought a pair of Harem trousers from hush. I could live in them as they are amazingly comfy but also cool and airy. I bought a navy pair last year and I wish I’d bought 3 pairs.

Neednewwellies · 10/04/2020 18:09

@Littlemiss74, look at the Hush harem trousers. They’re pricier but they’re the comfiest trousers I’ve ever bought.

Terralee · 10/04/2020 19:21

I wore a black short cotton broderie dress from River Island with flip flops yesterday & today as it's been hot.
My legs are quite pale I'm happy with them as they're quite toned thanks to the gym; although I'm a size 12-14.
I put my spf30 on today as got a bit burnt yesterday oops.
Now washing the dress so I may wear a short tiered blue dress from Accessorize I bought recently. Or my short black denim shorts from Dorothy Perkins & a vest top. Can't decide.
