Piercing. ? Am I immature to think I want to get them?

I been thinking for a bit that I would love to get my nose and septum pierced, am I just dreaming of my teens because I could not do it and now I could but wonder if it is beyond me now and a silly question?.

I love those two and hubby does not mind and have thought about others to get but just scared too?. It might be my mind just stuck inside too. Lol.

Go for it! I took a lot of my teen piercings out and ended up getting a few redone in my late 20s Smile

raspberryk · 09/04/2020 22:07

I got my nose done for my 30th, and I had a second done a year later.

katt1234 · 09/04/2020 22:21

I guess I am overthinking things.

I see so many others and am like those are cute and I talked to hubby and was like sure go for it so I will try and make an appointment after the shops open, I will have to drag a friend.

I have a number of ear piercings and love mixing them up. I have had the plan to have my nose and septum and then Pinterest is what got me thinking.

What do think of other piercings like ones on your face or navel and nipples? I probably sound ridiculous but I could be trying to jump back to 20’s and feel a little stylish than my yoga pants and jumper.

I like the paired nostril with it on each side, it would be cute.

I have both nipples, my naval and 11 ear piercings! I say go for it

browzingss · 09/04/2020 22:58

I had my nose pierced at 16, I really liked it and miss it! Used to wear a ring. Unfortunately when I got to about 20/21 I took it out as I felt I was conveying an unprofessional image and it didn’t suit my financial career goals. Really easy piercing to look after, however it did scar my nose (the piercing site has closed but still visible)

I also had my nipples pierced but took them out. Mine just never really healed well and just felt a bit sore all of the time, which as you can imagine is unpleasant. Catching it on anything, shower loofah, hair, clothing, bedding etc was so painful

katt1234 · 09/04/2020 23:24

I have wondered about nipples and glad I am not out to space, I am going do a bit more reading and I think I will take you advice because I guess really if I am at home now

I do not have to worry about a few piercings and an upset boss hehe. I could see what one could say on a conservative job but at home it is just me too report too haha.

I think I will start slow and get my nose and septum and navel done and if I have the courage nipples, to start as I have read that can become addictive.

Has still got or had a lip or eyebrow, I do not mean all the questions but I guess I am just going to take that advice to just take the leap just anxious in my thirties and a shop full of 20’s lol.

I'm 40 next month and recently had my nose pierced. I'm glad I took the plunge as I couldn't do it when I was younger due to my job.

Holothane · 10/04/2020 00:07

I’m 54 and had loads but due to hospital stuff removed, never bothered about putting back, but I loved them you go for it. Might have belly button done again.

katt1234 · 10/04/2020 00:09

That is cool, thank u., I am a bit anxious but I think I am going to go in for them, a little nervous but a present and fun.

I prefer tattoos to piercings, the healing and cleaning get on my nerves. I have a double tongue piercing, ive taken them out twice for 18months and re pierced them myself both times. Id love my nose done though and plan to get my nipples done again once ive had my boobs lifted back up the 10inches they've sank

veewee · 10/04/2020 00:57

I've currently got multiple ear piercings, nose, tongue, lip & clitoral hood, used to also have my nipples pierced & top & naval (only took nips & naval out as I was pregnant & my bellybutton popped right out & they would have torn out & I was planning to breastfeed so removed those too!) when I finish breastfeeding my baby, I'll be getting nips redone & when I lose baby weight, I'll possibly get both redone in naval (although, I'm now stretch marked from top to bottom of my stomach now, & won't ever be showing it off again, so they aren't a definite!)

I love all of my piercings & only had my clitoral hood done about 3 months ago, I'm 32!

How old are you op? (Not that it matters, I'm just nosy!)

veewee · 10/04/2020 00:58

Sorry, should say top & bottom of naval, clearly I should proof read!

Mrsmurrayposh · 10/04/2020 01:12

Not at all sister! I had my nose pierced this year and I am 44. Go for it x

Mrsmurrayposh · 10/04/2020 01:15

Nose doesn't hurt at all. Also had forward helix, front cartridge of ear done, also fine. Can't comment on more delicate areas but I reckon you'll rock em all, just do it, i love your attitude x

Mrsmurrayposh · 10/04/2020 01:18

Yes, i know, cartilage Blush

DismantleMe · 10/04/2020 01:25

I had my nipples done a year ago and they aren't fully healed. I like them though! Just be prepared to maintain cleaning routine longer than other piercings.

katt1234 · 10/04/2020 02:13

It good to hear that I can still do it at 36 and not look silly.

That could be fun to take one my girlfriends to if she is down with it.

That is good to know, I hear nipples hurt quite a bit but that is ok and I do not think that I am going to walk out with too many but I am going to see what I can do to try out a few and go back.

My mum is going to flip it will be funny.

But I think I will go and get my nose paired, the septum and my nipples and decide if I want the navel or even a lip. I am glad to hear that this is not silly.

I certainly don’t think it’s immature.

I’m in my 40s and would love to have one (maybe both) nipple pierced but l don’t have the courage.

I used to have a pierced naval, l liked it bur that didn’t work for me. Twice the body rejected it.

katt1234 · 10/04/2020 07:18

Starlight, I am glad to know, I asked a friend and was like cool, her reply was like elegant, then I said, um, think edgy pencil skirt and blouse lol but I guess I am doing it for me and it might not be what I want after, but I want it because I am curious if I can pull it off, and I will try it out and take me to get used to it but I can say I did it I still want to try it if nothing more than to experiment lol.

I had my nipple pierced as a teen and as @browzinggs said, mine never really healed, had gunk a lot of the time, it hurt like hell getting done and I wouldn't recommend it.

I had my tongue done too but it swells up loads which I didn't realise and I ended up taking it out the same day cos I was starving.

I have had my navel done twice though and am considering having it redone when I have lost the final 6lbs to goal weight. (all in the same place, I have let it heal over).

For some reason I alway faint after a piercing. I now know to lie down until the fizzy feeling wears off. Fine with tattoos though.

Wearenotyourkind · 10/04/2020 09:10

I'm mid thirties and have multiple facial piercings that I've had since my teens/twenties. Also to add, I work in a professional role and nobody gives a crap.

MaryBoBary · 10/04/2020 09:13

I love piercings and have had 5 in my ears, my naval and my nose done twice. But sadly no matter what type of metal I use they just don't agree with me. So I've taken them all out now but you should definitely go for it. You only live once!

HelloTerrance · 10/04/2020 09:23

If you are unsure, just get it done, you can always take them out of you don't like them.
