Billowing palazzo pants

Marmaladegin · 05/04/2020 21:52

II intend to waft with them flowing silkily around me and pair them with a cropped jumper and ballet pumps or crisp trainers.

Any light fabric, except linen. Any colour. Highish waits ideally. Hopefully £50 or less

Thoughts anyone? Daffodil

Mine came from M&S a couple of years ago. I billowed and floated beautifully right up to the day that I caught the hem on my toe and dislocated it............ Crop trousers are the way forward!

CadburysTastesVileNow · 06/04/2020 10:33

I caught my toe coming downstairs and fell a looong way.

banivani · 06/04/2020 12:02

This is one of my favourite looks, but it can certainly be a tripping hazard. You must glide in a stately manner.

I got some from H&M and Arket last year.

Crayfishforyou · 06/04/2020 12:47

Zara had some grey ones a few weeks ago.
I've had to shorten them as they were too long, and I'm 5'7, but they are wonderfully voluminous

Crayfishforyou · 06/04/2020 12:51

Actually zara have many pairs

Crayfishforyou · 06/04/2020 12:51

Of wafty trousers

Stupid phone

inwood · 06/04/2020 12:52

Mine are from M&S.

Had to get them taken up as I kept tripping on them!

GreenWheat · 06/04/2020 12:55

I love the idea of this look. Hadn't considered the health and safety aspect 😂

Giggorata · 06/04/2020 13:23

Another one here who went flying after being caught up in palazzo trousers. It took over a year before I could kneel down again without agony in the knee I smashed.
Very wary now. Pity, because I love the look.

Bellyfullofbiscuits · 06/04/2020 13:24

My mum thought like that. Instead she kept tripping herself over, take heed op 😆

Lily193 · 06/04/2020 14:15

I thought I'd recently found the perfect pair - so perfect I bought two pairs. Wore them for the first time on Saturday, tripped and badly twisted my ankle.

TruffleShuffles · 06/04/2020 14:24

I’ve had a few pairs from Zara that are suitably flowy. I’ve also gone top to bottom down the stairs in them. I did it at work whilst showing a new starter around, I somehow managed to style it out and she seemed much more embarrassed about the whole situation than I did.

OatMilkAddict · 06/04/2020 14:34

I keep getting Facebook adverts from a company called "Forgotten Tribes" selling hippyish and very voluminous ones.

MulberryPeony · 06/04/2020 14:57

I have two pairs 7/8th length jersey ones from Uniqlo and fancy a pair of phase 8 cropped ones in their sale but trying to justify buying more wide legged trousers Blush

MoltoAgitato · 06/04/2020 14:59

I have a pair of cropped palazzo trousers from Oasis last year. I too, trip on the longer ones!

AhCheeses · 06/04/2020 15:00

I had an ace pair, went to Tesco, felt very floaty, then caught the edge in the trolley wheel and and as I walked it pulled the hem down and flashed my bum.
But I am very clumsy...

tldr · 06/04/2020 15:03

If you catch your toe in them and decide to prioritise not falling down over other considerations, you end up letting them pull off your bum so you are left standing in the middle of a London bus in your pants. Don’t ask me how I know this.

AhCheeses · 06/04/2020 15:30

@tldr if you'd said 'in Tesco' instead of 'on a bus' I'd have assumed you'd seen my bum cheek...

tldr · 06/04/2020 15:48

ahcheeses I think we cross posted but it’s good to know I’m not the only person that’s happened to. I’ll never wear wide-legged trousers again...

InglouriousBasterd · 06/04/2020 15:54

BestIsWest · 06/04/2020 16:21

I’d been considering some but had forgotten the tripping hazard. I had a few accidents in them last time round. Maybe long cropped ones are the way.

Marmaladegin · 06/04/2020 19:40

Gosh.

On one hand thrilled at a) help and b) how many of us are on the same style page.

On other hand terrified at potential death trap/ bum exposure...

But I am very keen on the idea of this look, so I think I might get some and take the sewing machine to them to adjust length very carefully before venturing out. I'm tallish but they do sound alarmingly dangerous

Please could someone link to these pants and / or a good look with them? I want to imagine they sound fab

LuluBellaBlue · 06/04/2020 23:03

I’m intrigued to see these dangerous trousers!

BestIsWest · 07/04/2020 06:58

I found going up steps to be the most dangerous.
