Possibly the wrong place but candles

Where can I get some nice candles? I’ve gone off Yankee as the fragrance doesn’t last and they don’t burn well. Has anyone got any recommendations please?

I like Valentte. It’s a small UK company and the products are locally made and organic. The E25 gift boxes are really good value (and no, I don’t work for them!) I use the candles and the reed diffusers and people often comment on how nice they are.

The hand creams and liquid soaps are lovely too.

I love ruth Mastenbroek

hipslikecinderella · 28/03/2020 07:32

Also look on Rouiller white website- they stock ruth Mastenbroek and lots of lovely others.

Honestly I got some lovely pink ones from Ikea over Xmas. Cheap and smell lovely. Different colours. Also like cowshed and diptyque for the ultimate indulgence

RJnomore1 · 28/03/2020 07:40

Wax lyrical are nice

lokoho · 28/03/2020 08:04

Diptique are my absolute favourite but soooo expensive. Otherwise I have liked everything I've ever bought from Yorkshire Soap - though the 'Laboratory' ones best. I like woody 'masculine' scents or very fresh green scents.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/03/2020 13:27

Neom ones are nice.

Could I recommend Noa candles for when she was restocks next weekend. Small company, wonderful scents, nice looking jars. www.shopnoa.co.uk/shop

Imperial candles, plus the added bonus you get jewellery.

Brookeinabook · 28/03/2020 22:43

True Grace. Expensive but wonderful and they last a long time.

Another vote for Neom - I love their scents - they smell like the oils you get in a spa, very relaxing.

Kenneth Turner candles smell really good too.

This is my favourite candle, it's beautiful, it's woody and warm, I find these burn really well and last.

I'd also recommend Laboratory candles too, especially Amber or atlas but they are more expensive.

Love Jo Malone as a treat

thethoughtfox · 29/03/2020 12:50

I am a piggy and love sweet smells. I highly recommend Ilume candles from Anthropology. They have a 'Boulangerie' (bakers) range. They have espresso, whipped cream and pear, oatmeal cookie. All yum.

MoltonSilver · 29/03/2020 12:50

Celtic Candles smell divine (mostly, there are one or two scents that didnt do it for me but I'm hard to please).

thethoughtfox · 29/03/2020 12:50

Which Neom ones smell like a spa?

RJnomore1 · 29/03/2020 13:58

OOh the jo malone green tomato leaf smells like a spa

LadyEloise · 02/04/2020 01:01

Max Benjamin Maldives is beautiful.
As is their Enchanted Paths but they discontinued it. Silly sods. Sad

GeorgianaD · 04/04/2020 09:46

I have a weakness for Dyptique. Wink

Chochito · 04/04/2020 12:53

I was given a candle from Zara, about the height of a mobile phone and the width of an orange, in a glass, inside quite a luxurious looking thick white box. It is incredibly good quality, burned evenly and lasted a very long time. A gentle scent, sort of jasmine-y. I think the name of the candle was "anthologie" (like anthropologie rip-off). I was very impressed and would certainly buy more for myself.

FireandFury · 04/04/2020 12:59

Diptyque are my favourite I think but you need a second mortgage to burn them regularly.

Devon Wick candle company (small business feels) sells wax melts which are really lovely and very clean smelling.

Neom and Molton Brown are also really lovely.

LadyEloise · 04/04/2020 12:59

My White Company - 3 wick hasn't burned well at all Sad
The smell filled the room beautifully but I've got about 1/6 left and it won't burn at all.
It was an expensive gift.SadSadSad

Lamentations · 04/04/2020 13:02

LadyEloise break the leftover wax up into chunks and heat them in the top of an oil burner.

LadyEloise · 04/04/2020 16:11

Will do than you Lamentations
