Where can I get some nice candles? I’ve gone off Yankee as the fragrance doesn’t last and they don’t burn well. Has anyone got any recommendations please?

I buy a lot of candles.
Faves are
True Grace
Lily Flame
White Company

I buy a lot from TK Maxx and Homesense but obviously that won't help you right now

The Jo Malone Aldi copies are fab and Neom

cheezy · 04/04/2020 16:22

St Evals is my fave

Cire Trudon -- the best I've ever had!!
But prohibitively expensive.

Just bought a medium jar of lemon lavender Yankee (have also gone off Yankee but I find that one lasts)

Also I tend to burn essential oil (citrionella) and I have an electric oil burner so burn oils but would also like recommendations

Does anyone know which of these are free of the nasty chemicals? I know most candles now have toxic stuff in them :(
I was thinking of doing myself a comparison table - sad I know but I love candles but hate the thought of breathing in all that toxic air!

queenofarles · 04/04/2020 17:08

Cire Trudon and nothing else.

Max Benjamin dont use paraffin and wax is made from soy blends and other renewable plant based waxes.

They should reintroduce Enchanted Paths just for me as I'm promoting them so well on here !!!

As I said previously their Maldives is lovely - very tropical. Their Mimosa and Sweet Amber is lovely too. But scent is so subjective. They do little sampler thingies that you could scent your drawers/ car with and get a very good sense of the scent.

Another brand I love is Parks candles - Original scent or Hyacinth.

Dyptique are the best but they are painfully expensive.

Vaginandtonic · 04/04/2020 18:19

Diptyque that should say!

Another vote here for St Eval.

Not expensive, last for ages and lovely scents.

Bay and Rosemary, Inspiritus and Tranquility are my favourites.

White company

A good small producer is the rhubarb candle company. I have a monthly subscription and think I've had only one I haven't liked in nearly 3 years.

I always pick up a nice soy candle from TK Maxx from whatever range they have in.
