Gym wear

Can anyone recommend somewhere for gym wear please? I’m about 10lbs overweight at the moment from Christmas, I don’t carry extra weight well, and I want something I can work out in without feeling too self conscious or uncomfortable! Tia Smile

I love sweaty Betty but it’s pretty pricey. You can get 2nd hand stuff in pretty good nick on eBay. Otherwise marks and Spencer and H&M do pretty good gym wear. Or lulu lemon if your budget allows

Agree with pp sweaty Betty stuff is great. It's pricy but it will last well.

Does anyone know how Sweaty Betty compares to Lululemon?

I prefer lulu lemon. Quality is better

Hi OP. Whilst I'm sure cheaper kit from say, Asda or Primark will be fine for some activities especially if budget is a priority, I really recommend spending as much as you can on bottom halves. I love the look of both Sweaty Betty and Lulu Lemon and I think I'm going to put them on my birthday/Christmas wish lists, my budget is Nike. I find them very hardwearing, squat proof and they keep their fit and form. I run in all weathers so they get exposed to sunlight and are washed often. If you know your size snap up a few pairs when you see them in sales.

Also second H & M kit, excellent quality and performance for the price.

Slightly off track but if anyone is looking for a running belt I got a great ones in Asda a few weeks ago. £6! I'm so pleased with it.

I have gym leggings Gap but I struggle keeping them up and it’s drives me nuts. At the weekend I spontaneously bought some Lulu Lemon Wonder Trains and I’ve been wearing them around the house/out and about for two days and love them. DH commented on them and how I look sculpted.
DH never comments on such things and I’m certainly not sculpted under my leggings.

I bought gun leggings from Sainsbury’s a few weeks ago - more in hope than expectation and just thought they’d do for walking the dog of no good for the gym. They’re actually fab - very sculpting and lasting well through squats, dance classes, hiit etc.

I’ve bought great gym leggings from tk Maxx, fabletics and dkny ones in great fabric for under £20. Obviously stock is a bit hit and miss but well worth a look
