40th presents

Not sure where to post this but what did your OH get you for your 40th?

Hasn't happened yet (June) but he's booked a night at Raymond Blancs le manoir hotel with dinner included. Ridiculous price so I was going to take him and he get me something more 'normal' but he offered, so that's incredibly sweet. I don't really want anything else. My mum wants to take me shopping for a dress. My daughter will prob get me beauty bits and bobs. I'm throwing a massive party but paying for that myself

It’s mine this year and I’m getting a diamond eternity ring.

Many years ago now but my DH bought me a flight to a foreign country to meet up with someone I hadn't seen for 30+ years.

Didn't have one at the time.

I bought mine a watch. And a trip to Venice for 50th.

Oooh, yes as well as the watch he got a champagne pod with friends on the London Eye!

Diamond bracelet - he knew I wanted one, we discussed this before the day but he chose it (with fairly rigid instructions!)

Also went to Mykonos with my younger sister!!

(I wear the watch every day & still wear the trainers at the gym. I never wear the trainers outside as I don't want to wreck them, they're the last thing that my Nan bought me).

No idea, mine is in 2 weeks and every time I mention it people look a bit panicked and change the subject. Usually my DM would ask me what I want but not this time... Its either going to be amazing, or nobody cares!!

I got a diamond eternity ring, I love it.

I went shopping for a bag....i will never have another one that expensive so I do cherish it!

I needed a new waterproof coat so DH took me shopping and I got a North Face snowboarding jacket. I absolutely love it. Still going strong almost a decade later. It's in my favourite colour and irreplaceable.

We chose it together but my digital Nikon SLR.

And a trip to see the Frida Kahlo exhibition at the V&A (2 years ago).

Tiffany diamond earrings which were a surprise plus what I asked for which was a weekend at Centre Parcs.

Re: the latter it sounds boring but I just wanted to go somewhere as a family where we would be chilled and relaxed expecting it only to be us and the children.

But he booked two Treehouses for "us" and close family and gave me the earrings when there.

It was brilliant to have all the family together and it was such a surprise not only to be in a treehouse but to go next door and find my parents/in-laws and other close family in the next one.

For what it cost he could have done something far more "posh" for just us but I loved it.

We had a really memorable weekend with some family members now departed that if we'd gone abroad wouldn't have happened.

We go to CP pretty much every year but the children still talk about "the treehouse" visit more than anything or tbh any holiday because of how much fun we had as an extended family.
