Shaving my foo foo

Sansastark45 · 05/03/2020 20:47

What does everyone else do !! I recall a few years ago covering it in hair removal cream! The front was fine but jeeze it burnt my lips.!!! Shaving just aggravates me and the following few days it itches like mad !!!! It looks wild down there :(

Just leave it as nature intended.

Bezalelle · 05/03/2020 22:15

Leave it be. And stop calling it your foo foo.

plunkplunkfizz · 05/03/2020 22:16

If you’re still young enough to use a twee nickname then you’re too young to be worrying about hair removal.

BecauseReasons · 05/03/2020 22:17

You can get little Veet razors that are battery powered. They have a pink guard on and trim the hair without sending you bald so it doesn't itch at all as it grows.

Thekindyoufindinasecondhand · 05/03/2020 22:18

Wax the back (bum) and sides that show outside bikini line. Trim the rest with clippers.

CodenameVillanelle · 05/03/2020 22:19

I remove my pubic hair periodically from the sides and undercarriage. I exfoliate the area with a mitt a day or so before and use hair conditioner instead of shaving foam as it is much more effective.

I know the arguments about why we shouldn't do it but honestly i much prefer it shaved when I'm going to get lucky so I do it for those times 🤷🏼‍♀️

dellacucina · 05/03/2020 22:20

Hot wax. This is the only way to do it.

VenusClapTrap · 05/03/2020 22:20

Full bush.

ReginaGeorgeous · 05/03/2020 22:20

Waxing is the way to go

maa1992 · 05/03/2020 22:22

I shave, it's annoying and shaving bumps and itchiness is annoying, husband prefers my shaven and ive been doing it since I was a teenager so it's like a second nature to me

BecauseReasons · 05/03/2020 22:22

Hot wax. This is the only way to do it.

Got to disagree with you there. It's a way to do it, yes, though a painful one.

7thlevelofthecandycaneforest · 05/03/2020 22:24

I have a Phillips lumea and it’s amazing for down there! I zap it every few weeks and the only regrowth are the bits I miss so just the odd strip!

BecauseReasons · 05/03/2020 22:26

@maa1992 I hope he returns the favour- you have told him you prefer him shaven?

Tbh I would tell him that even if it wasn't true.

StarlightLady · 06/03/2020 03:20

Use a good quality hair condtioner. The razor then glides.

For those who tell you not to shave, this is not the question being asked

BecauseReasons · 06/03/2020 05:52

Be wary of the conditioner method! If the skin down there is sensitive you can find yourself in a lot of discomfort.

DoTheNextRightThing · 06/03/2020 06:38

I use the sensitive precision electric razor for down there and it's never given me any problems. Can get right into all the nooks and crannies.

HelloDulling · 06/03/2020 06:42

Usually, I do nothing. Before holidays, I go for a wax. If I were younger, or more bothered, I’d wax regularly. The regrowth with shaving is too uncomfortable, and I didn’t get on with the cream.

EarringsandLipstick · 06/03/2020 06:45

Extended bikini wax, every 6 weeks or so. Find it only mildly painful.

TwilightPeace · 06/03/2020 06:46

Why are people telling you not to do it?
I trim the hairs down as much as I can first, then shave with a brand new razor.

kevintheorangecarrot · 06/03/2020 06:47

I shave it completely hygiene purposes. I feel more cleaner when I shave it! Nothing against woman who leaves it alone and lets it grow wild lol good for them! I just make sure I use a good razor (usually use BIC). I never get ingrown hair/itch down there ((knock on wood)) but my legs get very itchy so I have to get them waxed!

userabcname · 06/03/2020 06:49

It is more hygienic to have pubic hair than to not have it. Get rid of it if you want but do not claim this makes you cleaner. It doesn't.

LouisaJenny · 06/03/2020 06:49

I trim mine using the Wilkinson Sword bikini razor that has a trimmer attached.

Been doing it for years now and wouldn’t do anything else.

kevintheorangecarrot · 06/03/2020 06:50

I FEEL cleaner.

overnightangel · 06/03/2020 06:51

“ Why are people telling you not to do it? ”

Because some people on Mumsnet think that if you dare to exercise your own personal choice in this matter,
A) You’re selling out the sistsahood and decades of feminism
B) You’re a product of the pornification of society
C) Your partner has paedophilic tendancies

Some people can’t/won’t seem to understand that to some it feel neater, cleaner, comfier etc.

@7thlevelofthecandycaneforest how do you see what you’re doing with the Lumea?
