Help !! I hate my highlights what can I do

I had highlights this afternoon. Usually she keeps my brunette colour as dominant and there are scattered highlights. She put more in turn usual, loads more and I hate it.
She never normally does the front and I was thinking that as she applied it but like a dick I didn't say anything.
I hate the front. I hate the line of brunette then boom this horrible brassy colour.

What can I do???
Would a box dye of brown with me applying here and there help??
Fuck !!

Help !! I hate my highlights what can I do

Go back and ask for a toner to be applied to adjust the blond.

1vandal2 · 21/02/2020 17:30

I think it looks well blended personally

helpmethekidsarehere · 21/02/2020 17:33

I think it looks blended well. I think baby shampoo can dull the highlights but In not sure

ZoeandChandon · 21/02/2020 17:35

I think it looks nice, but if you hate it then go back and tell her, especially as you normally like what she does.

Clovertoast · 21/02/2020 17:36

Thank you. I think I'm just a bit....I don't know.....its just too much blonde, not enough brunette?

I think I've found a temporary solution in that brunette spray for roots !

I like it. Don’t see the issue.

Oblomov20 · 21/02/2020 17:55

Think it looks great. Please don't dye it yourself. You back and ask for a toner, or explain it's too blonde and in the wrong area, and get her to put some lowlights in.

Please get her to do it, not yourself.

Vaper1 · 21/02/2020 18:17

Looks lovely

hopeishere · 21/02/2020 18:23

I think it looks great!

Boireannachlaidir · 21/02/2020 18:28

I think it looks lovely. Perhaps you just need a day or two to adjust to it esp if you weren't planning on being blonder?

Please do speak up if you're not happy in future though, they're not mind readers!

Clovertoast · 21/02/2020 18:35

Point taken totally @Boireannachlaidir

I like it, I sometimes come away from the hairdresser thinking it's not light enough.

lexiepuppy · 21/02/2020 19:16

It looks pretty!
Give it a couple of days and see what you think afterwards.

Definitely don’t put a box dye on it!!

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 21/02/2020 19:19

That's far from brassy, IMHO. I think it's very classy and natural looking

PinkSparkleUnicorns · 21/02/2020 19:20

I think it's lovely. If you do go back, just say it's great hair but you just feel more 'you' when it's a bit darker x

wineandsunshine · 21/02/2020 19:22

This happened to me over Xmas (yours looks good in comparison!).
I went straight back the next morning and they offered me a correction and I felt much better!

leli · 21/02/2020 19:25

Looks great to me and v subtle

keepingbees · 21/02/2020 19:34

I think it looks nice but if you're not happy go back and ask for it to be corrected, maybe a dark toner or some low lights through? (I'm no hairdresser)

Couch25k · 21/02/2020 19:55

I think it looks lovely and very nicely done. Dont panic just yet as highlights always settles down after a few washes

Blondie1092 · 21/02/2020 20:00

Head and shoulders shampoo strips blonde out quite well. When I had bright brassy highlights from a terrible hairdresser I washed my hair three times that evening with head and shoulders to tone it down while I waited for an appointment with a new hairdresser.

Blondie1092 · 21/02/2020 20:01

However I really want to add..
Your hair looks beautiful. And it is very well blended!!

GrockleRock · 21/02/2020 20:08

I think it looks great and very neat!

LynetteScavo · 21/02/2020 20:14

It looks fine. If you don't like it ask the hairdresser to tone it down- don't shove a box on it and brown spray will just make take away the shine.

MassDebate · 21/02/2020 20:20

When this happened to me my hairdresser did what they described as a root stretch - basically putting a toner on but combing it down from the roots so the overall effect was natural. It worked a treat.

Fairyliz · 21/02/2020 20:36

Wow op I think it looks lovely. Can you give it a couple of days to see if you get used to it?
