Flat shoes that look smart for work

Hi everyone I’m after some flat shoes that look smart for work, but offer support and are not super thin. I used to wear ballerina flat or pointy flats, but where I am on my feet all day I need something with a bit more cushioning, as I have quite sensitive feet and feel every little bump change of surface.im hoping this makes sense. Also Im A size 8 although have quite slim feet.please help I’ve been living in sketchers trainers and boots but now need some smarter options

I am in no way fashionable, so may be a total miss, but I just bought these which also come in patent.

peachypetite · 15/02/2020 21:28

I have started wearing brogues. Got a feminine pair from Aldo, so comfy.

Wanderlustnearorfar · 15/02/2020 21:30

@Coldhandscoldheart they could of been a contender however I can see no option for a size 8 the biggest size seems to be a 7 I shall continue the search thank you though

Dr Martens all the way. They have a few styles that are shoes as opposed to boots. Once broken in they are so comfortable and hard wearing. I like their mary-jane styles. I have crap feet and have worn Dr Martens for years, nothing compares IMO.

ClientQueen · 15/02/2020 21:30

These are mega comfy

@ReflectiveGingernut I also worry my feet would look huge Confused might need to try some on see how I feel. do they take long to break in?

@Wanderlustnearorfar they feel virtually flat when they're on. Squishy sole too
And sorry, I bought the size 8! BlushGrin

I buy fit the fitflop shoes often walking 5+ miles in four hours up and down flights of stairs. Feet never feel tired and they look smart with ‘posh’ trousers and blouse. Not cheap, but they do have sales.

These are so comfy. They're available in loads of colours too.

PhonicTheHedgehog · 15/02/2020 21:51

What’s your budget? You mentioned you like ballerinas and these are ballerina shoes with a trainer sole. They go up to an 8.

I bought Chelsea boots from Sainsbury’s and they’ve been great, lasted really well and are super comfy. Not tried their shoes.

BlackCatsRule88 · 15/02/2020 21:52

I bought my third pair of Hamble Oaks from Clarkes. I wear them a lot hence getting through two pairs before now. Recommended by a colleague originally. I wear a 7 and don’t feel they make my feet look big which can be the case with some shoes. Available up to size 9 and in three different versions I think. I’ve always found them to be comfy from first wear as well.

Gemma2019 · 15/02/2020 21:53

If you like Skechers, the shoes go up to a size 8. They do a few smart flat pairs.

Littleshortcake · 15/02/2020 21:56

Tr y marks and Spencer. They have several pairs of very comfortable flat / very slight heel. Long wearing and perfect fit. The ones I like are footglove

Nogoodwithgoodbyes · 15/02/2020 22:33

I'd love to know too :-)

Coldhandscoldheart · 16/02/2020 06:26

Sorry Blush I didn’t even look at the sizes.
Tesco do something similar too and I think last time I looked they didn’t have my size, but did have an 8, but my memory might be playing me false.

hydeandrun · 16/02/2020 07:14

another vote for the hamble oak brogues from Clark. super comfy, look very smart and make the feet look smallish. I am a 7 and these are by far my 'smallest' shoes.

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 16/02/2020 07:17

For ballerina type shoes, try Gabor. Very expensive but very comfy and last for a long time.

SlowSigh · 16/02/2020 07:28

I have these. A bit dull, but super comfortable.

Standrewsschool · 16/02/2020 07:37

I’ve just brought some fit-flop shoes (from TK maxx), and they are so comfortable.

My other work shoes are all from Clarks. Shoes are always worth spending out on.

TheReef · 16/02/2020 07:41

Aldi are good, as are Clarks, Reiker
