Flat shoes that look smart for work

Wanderlustnearorfar · 15/02/2020 21:25

Hi everyone I’m after some flat shoes that look smart for work, but offer support and are not super thin. I used to wear ballerina flat or pointy flats, but where I am on my feet all day I need something with a bit more cushioning, as I have quite sensitive feet and feel every little bump change of surface.im hoping this makes sense. Also Im A size 8 although have quite slim feet.please help I’ve been living in sketchers trainers and boots but now need some smarter options

Another vote for Clarks Hamble Oak. I've just bought the metallic version to add to the collection - so comfortable!

I bought the patent hamble oaks to wear under a long black ballgown at a black tie event that involved a fair bit of walking around - think I was the only one still wearing shoes at the end of the evening.

WingBingo · 16/02/2020 08:54

Another vote for Hamble Oaks.

So comfy and available in a range of colour and leather.

PathOfLeastResitance · 16/02/2020 12:34

I love the flat brogues from Shoe Republic. They have a big website of choices too. I have one of the styles in four colours as they are comfy and work with trousers and skirts. Always get complimented on them too.

lanabanana63 · 28/02/2020 17:48

Fit flop ballerinas. Soo comfy!

graysquirrel · 28/02/2020 17:54

Hamble Oaks definitely. I've got size 9 feet and they're the only shoes I like the look of on my feet. Nice with skirts and tights, and trousers alike. So comfy.

Lucked · 28/02/2020 18:03

I have size 7 feet and love my flatform brogues, lovely cushioned sole and they look less like men’s shoes on me than normal brogues.

Mine were form the Hobbs sale but M&S do them up to size 8.

beingmum39 · 28/02/2020 20:01

Hotter is a good store. I bought some really comfortable wide fit shoes from there. I am on my feet a lot, have worn them for a month and not a blister in sight. Apparently these are the shoes that alot of the nurses wear

Sussedyouout · 28/02/2020 20:05

Fitflop all the way! So comfy. I have outdoor boots, slippers, loafers, sandals & sliders! I suffer with plantar fasciitis which can be very painful & Fitflop shoes are the only shoes which helps - they are so light too. My hubby has even bought a few pairs!!

Sussedyouout · 28/02/2020 20:07

PS....make sure you buy leather Fitflops otherwise the plastic shoes/boots can be quite stiff

puppymouse · 28/02/2020 20:12

I wear Clarks brogues when I have to storm round London for work. Comfy and keep my feet drier than open ones!

Pliudev · 28/02/2020 20:20

Definitely Fitflops. They do have great sales and also an outlet. They are the only shoes I've bought that feel comfy from the very first. We'll worth the money but congrats to Standrew for finding them in TKMaxx.

SallyOMalley · 28/02/2020 20:23

Another about for Clarks Hamble Oaks! I wear them with dresses and (when it's warmer) bare my ankles with slim cropped pants. So comfortable.

I recently bought these, they are very comfy and I got compliments about them all day, which never usually happens.

Aquarius1 · 28/02/2020 20:28

I’m a size 7.5 and I just wore my hamble oaks for the first time today - so glad to see lots of other fans of these on this thread! I wondered if brogues were out of fashion now or if they looked a bit silly but they’re so so comfy and great with a pair of ankle grazer trousers. I have slim feet and need a bit of cushioning too. I felt so smart in them after usually just wearing my scruffy trainers.

Lucked · 28/02/2020 20:30

Another option for size 8 brogues are Red it Deads rosie which are really nice.

SamSeabornforPresident · 28/02/2020 21:25

Hamble oaks people, what do you wear under them? Trainer socks show and ruin the look but I don't want to have them on with just bare feet. Not trendy enough for ankle socks.

puppymouse · 28/02/2020 21:45

@SamSeabornforPresident I wear these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XXGFFFH/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_rJywEbH10G6EJ

I believe these are the same as my loafers - very comfy from the first day. Primary teacher so on my feet constantly. Will buy these

for spring based on the comfort of the last pair. Have previously had plantar fascitis and have not found flat shoes (rather than boots/trainer type things) to suit for ages but can really wear these loafers all day.

dusky777 · 28/02/2020 22:16

I've had nothing but problems with my feet for years always wore ballerina style shoes as I can do heel, then i sprained my ankle nearly 4 years ago and have tried most flat shoes going....Stive and vionics are the best by far but expensive. I live in both flip flops in the summer. Winter its asics trainers which are so comfy but really not stylish. If I wear boots for a day I suffer!.

wasgoingmadinthecountry · 28/02/2020 22:16

speedofasloth like those!

snappycamper · 28/02/2020 22:25

I'm a size 9 and bought these from office a couple of weeks ago. I love them, so comfy and very smart looking.

Blibbyblobby · 28/02/2020 22:41

Geox are really comfy

Blibbyblobby · 28/02/2020 22:45

These ones: I tried them on one day and wouldn't take them off, bought them on my feet!

Not sure if they count as smart enough though

Thisismynewname123 · 29/02/2020 08:15

I also have slim feet/ankles and can't wear ballerinas anymore because they're too flat. However, I have found these very comfortable:
