M&S jeans-tell me about them please!

Morning all!
I always struggle to find jeans that fit properly. I’m in river island molly joggings at the minute that fit really well. I went in last week to get some more of the same but different colour but they gaped on the back, I was so frustrated! Top shop also gape on the back.
I was looking at the m&s site last night and can’t believe how well priced they are. Question is, are they any good? Do they wash ok? I hate jeans that go baggy after half hour of wearing them.
Thanks all!

I don't know about them but I have never seen clothing as heavily instgram-advertised as these M+S jeans. It is ridiculous. It's put me right off.

MadamShazam · 17/02/2020 10:24

I have 2 pairs of the jeggings, blue and a dark aubergine colour, and I love them. They fit beautifully and are really comfy.

fishonabicycle · 17/02/2020 11:25

You do need to try them on though - some are fine but I found some styles really gaped at the back of my waist.

Sooverthemill · 17/02/2020 12:19

@CatherineTheNotSoGreat that's very true. I like watching the try ins though ( as with all jeans) and saw the 'a life to style' try on which I found helpful regarding size and fit.

Sooverthemill · 18/02/2020 10:03

@motherofgod2 here you go as usual excuse untidy room ( camping out in spare room while bedroom being decorated)

I'm totally unsure. super comfy, lovely high waist to tuck my tummy into and nice fabric. I do not know what makes a 'mom' jean different from another shape. But £25 is a bargain. So I will gather opinions from DD and the internet!

Decided to give a couple more styles a try. Think it was the Sienna I didn’t like before.

I’ve bought the Lily & the Sophia. Will try on at home and report back!

DuckyMcDuck · 18/02/2020 17:55

I bought the Magic skinny and slims today and they are both going back - looked awful on me. I do have very long legs and so many jeans look odd on me!

I love their Carrie super soft jeans (£10 cheaper than the Magic) and have those in light blue and black. I would highly recommend those.

motherofgod2 · 18/02/2020 18:29

They look great on you @Sooverthemill they really show off your figure I'd keep them if I were you. I'll go and try them on when I'm next in town.

MaggieFS · 18/02/2020 19:30

I tried on a magic straight pair today and my friend said they looked good. They didn't have the colour I wanted in my size so I'll need to order them. Hope I still like them!

Sooverthemill · 19/02/2020 09:33

Thanks @motherofgod2 I do like them but need to compare to others I already own. I'm honestly not sure how they are different from say slim boyfriend . I like the dark denim though. When I can get back I to my jeans drawer in my room I may lull out others and compare the shape. I know £25 is a bargain but I still have to be sure. I have spent much more on jeans before but wore them to death which makes cost per wear okay

CrotchetyQuaver · 19/02/2020 09:43

I've stuck with M&S jeans for years, I do need to go down a size for them though compared to their regular trousers.

Love their jeggings and just discovered the ivy skinny jeans are an almost perfect fit on my day tummy

KiteflyingKat · 19/02/2020 10:05

Wearing my new Lily today. They are meant to be slim but I’d say they err towards skinny on me, and I don’t have especially chunky legs. Main difference to skinny is they are lose around the ankles.
Very comfy though.

gingersausage · 19/02/2020 10:12

@Bishybarnybee not necessarily the OP, but definitely a lot of the other posts!

BrokenMumTeenDD · 19/02/2020 13:08

They are awful. I've tried on many times as the hype did make them sound interesting, but the cut & fit is dire

DuckyMcDuck · 20/02/2020 14:15

Interestingly, when I took the magic ones back today, the sales assistant said lots of people have been returning them.

IndieTara · 20/02/2020 17:57

I love my Lily jeans, keep washing and re wearing them

lindyloo57 · 20/02/2020 18:41

I have the lily's which are great, was in there today and took 3 pair of the sienna's style to try, a white, black, and blue all size 10, only the black fitted well, so you do have to try 2 to 3 pairs on, the sienna's are a straight style my first pair of Jean's that aren't skinny.

DarlingCoffee · 21/02/2020 06:20

I have the Carrie jeans. They are lovely and soft with a high rise but they do get baggier after washing so would go a size down

mintyt · 21/02/2020 06:31

I brought the ivy - worn them for a couple of hours and then took them back. They go baggy very quick round the thighs. M&S took them back for a full refund as faulty

CallarMorvern · 21/02/2020 06:45

I'm struggling with jeans at the moment. Peacocks Alexa charcoal were my go to, and then they 'improved' the fit and now the waists are huge.
I bought a pair of M&S Lily jeans, but wish I hadn't wasted the £19, especially as I'm skint. The waist is way too high and uncomfortable, which is really odd as I'm 5'10" and long in the torso. The ankles are oddly baggy too. I tried their other cheaper skinnys and they were ridiculously high waisted too.
I just want a decently priced mid rise skinny. Tu used to be fab, but I'm not liking the colours at the moment.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 21/02/2020 07:29

I also have the pet una Roma rise jeans but I find the lily just as good.

Sooverthemill · 21/02/2020 09:30

Have just sent back the Mom jeans. Ordered sienna and the Harper cigarette to try. Annoying no M&S near me ( an hours drive) so have to order, receive, send back...

MitchellMummy · 21/02/2020 09:36

I've had Levi's which don't really last (£90!) but the M&S ones - various - had over a year - wear very well, wash very well. Much cheaper too - can't remember how much I paid but no more than £35 or so. I tend to wear the same two pairs - every day - wash one pair wear the other so very hardwearing. They fit well - but we're all different! I never buy online, always in the shop. I've got two identical pairs but one pair slightly snugger than the other.

Sooverthemill · 21/02/2020 09:39

@Mitchellmummy I've just ordered first ever pair of Levi's to try

Icecreamdiva · 21/02/2020 11:31

I am an apple shape with a round stomach and slim legs. I find M&S jeans absolutely massive on the thighs. X
