What trainers are people wearing now?

Apart from the really chunky dad trainers!

For casual I either wear Supergas or Adidas mesh type trainers which double up as my running shoes. However, the Supergas are only comfy for short distances and the Adidas trainers have just worn out.

Where do I go next?

Adidas Stan Smith, so comfortable and go with everything!

ItStartedWithAKiss241 · 09/02/2020 12:13

I have some Pharrell Williams (I think?) Adidas trainers that are mesh and nice, not very practice for the UK weather atm tho x

VeniceBeach · 09/02/2020 12:27

Thanks both! I do really like Adidas for trainers.

emma6776 · 09/02/2020 20:04

Adidas samba rose - love the chunky sole!

Parker231 · 09/02/2020 20:06

Sketchers - perfect for the gym

isabellerossignol · 09/02/2020 20:11

If I were buying new trainers for wearing (rather than for the gym or walking or whatever) and I was feeling flush, I would be tempted by these

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 09/02/2020 20:19

Im umming and ahhing over these - not cheap though (and I really don’t need any more trainers!)

Stan Smith, Gazelles, or Reebok club c85

I’ve always liked the look of Vejas but too expensive for me

Elouera · 09/02/2020 21:54

Are you in the UK? I went to runners need. They have a treadmill and will assess your gate whilst either walking fast or jogging, and advise whether your ankles roll in or out. They then advise on shoes which help counter-act this. I ended up buying them on amazon and saved £30 on their shop price. The assessment is free and I didn't feel obligated to buy there and then. I personally would recommend getting shoes that are comfortable and support your individual gait, rather than just getting a brand to be fashionable or trendy.

Elouera · 09/02/2020 21:55

#gait not gate!

CtrlU · 09/02/2020 21:55

Nike vapourmax

For casual, definitely Veja

PickleMyPepper · 09/02/2020 22:03

I have a few pairs at the moment which I love;

  • Stan Smiths
  • Alexander McQueen exaggerated soles
  • Mallett
  • Gazelles
  • Air Force Ones (extra chunky sole)
  • Valentinos

I love a bit of lift in my trainers, I'm so short and can't be bothered wearing heels everyday. I get extra height with comfort too Grin

Zinnia · 09/02/2020 22:03

@Elouera So you were happy to use the service of the high street shop to find the right shoes, but not to repay that service by actually buying from the shop that helped you? Hmm

If I were you I don't think I would be boasting about that on the internet.

VeniceBeach · 09/02/2020 22:13

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes I saw someone wearing those and I really like them!

Elouera · 09/02/2020 22:15

@Zinnia- The shop I went to didn't have my size, the colour or width I needed. They didn't know when they were getting more stock in either, so NO, I didn't feel bad about buying elsewhere when they couldn't sell me the shoes they recommended!

locoroco · 09/02/2020 22:19

I've retired my Stan Smiths & moved onto the Sleek style.
