What trainers are people wearing now?

Apart from the really chunky dad trainers!

For casual I either wear Supergas or Adidas mesh type trainers which double up as my running shoes. However, the Supergas are only comfy for short distances and the Adidas trainers have just worn out.

Where do I go next?

@Elouera - great advice if the OP was after running shoes, but I assume (as this is in Style &Beauty) she is looking for trainers to wear as part of an everyday outfit, so fashion styles like Stan Smith, which you are not going to find in a running shop.

MelanieFrontage · 09/02/2020 23:52

Stan Smiths!
I love my SS nuuds which are really low profile and sooooo comfy.

Bloomburger · 09/02/2020 23:55

Air & Grace. They're super comfortable with memory foam insoles. That makes them sound like orthopaedic shoes, they aren't, they're v cool.

ViserionTheDragon · 10/02/2020 00:09

Veja

Anyone tried Vivo Barefoot trainers?

XingMing · 10/02/2020 14:48

Andia Fora... from past seasons, bought on line.

feesh · 10/02/2020 15:19

Yes @florriepeck I live in them! I just bought the new white pair that came out recently; I’m so glad to have finally found a reasonably fashionable barefoot shoe. It’s not quite as comfy as my Primus pair as the leather isn’t very forgiving. But I love them and wear them a LOT,

baileysandamincepie · 10/02/2020 17:11

@florriepeck I have Vivobarefoot trainers too, the primus and trail. Also love them and can train and walk miles in them, and find them comfortable. But you do have to embrace the philosophy and the science that favours barefoot walking. It's a bit inconclusive, and I'd be wary if you have back or lower body issues, or simply like really cushioned shoes. I wouldn't buy them just for the look alone. I generally only wear flat shoes with plenty of foot space, e.g. Grenson boots, birkenstocks, trainers so the transition wasn't hard.

feesh · 10/02/2020 17:27

Yes it’s definitely a way of life. I only wear barefoot shoes. I can’t walk in anything else any more.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 10/02/2020 19:28

Mint velvet have some lovely ones. I got navy suede lace less ones that have small stars where the lace holes would be.
Also Gucci white leather with a bee on the side. Had them for years and never really worn them but started wearing them and they are really comfortable.

florriepeck · 10/02/2020 19:37

Some good opinions of the Vivo Barefoot, OP.
I hadn't heard of them until DS went vegan, and I was reading a "vegan living" magazine ( swotting up so that I could support him): these trainers were mentioned, with a 100 day satisfaction guarantee.
I have them in mind for a summer break in Rome, with lots of walking, as I thought they'd go with shorts or dresses: wonder if they'd be up to Rome's cobbles, though.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 10/02/2020 19:40

Exercise trainers are different though. I wear nike air for the gym. Not expensive just black mesh with a white sole and white tick.

stoplickingthetelly · 10/02/2020 20:40

I’ve got Stan Smiths but no idea if they’re ‘in’ though.

GreyHare · 10/02/2020 21:17

I love my Adidas Superstars, they are so comfy, the fact I'm wearing them probably discounts them from being 'in' but I do love them, I have white with black stripes and white with a shiny pink/blue holo type stripe on them, I also have some black VL Courts they are nice but not as comfy.

CountFosco · 10/02/2020 21:26

Love the Novestas linked above. My last trainers were Vejas but I still love my Stan Smiths.

Gemma2019 · 10/02/2020 23:31

I've got two on the go - Alexander McQueen flatforms and Skechers Goldie Rainbow Rockers which I absolutely love.
