Low rise jeans/trousers

HappyHolidays75 · 01/02/2020 22:23

I avoid clothes shopping most of the time, but my jeans are wearing out.
Last time I bought them, low rise were everywhere and now I cant find any!
I liked gap and next before.
Tried next mid-rise but they need pulling up all the time.
Can anyone help? Do low rise exist somewhere? Where do I need to look?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Check the charity shops.

StarlightLady · 02/02/2020 04:37

I don’t like high waisted either. They make me look like Simon Cowell Grin. I don’t know whether you are looking for budget or high end, but try H&M.

FrockFrockFrockityFrock · 02/02/2020 04:54

Amazon. eBay (since you know the brand and size you like).

squeekums · 02/02/2020 05:38

faceoff.com.au/collections/product-category/face-off/denim-face-off/flare-denim-face-off

They ship international
Only jeans I buy cos only ones I can find anywhere, low rise skinny to flares, so comfy

I've been looking for low rise jeans for ages. I finally found and bought a pair from wranglers (boot cut) and I love them.

LaCerbiatta · 02/02/2020 07:39

I found some rag and bone ones in TK Maxx. Love them!

HappyHolidays75 · 02/02/2020 08:21

Thank you! I'll check these out.
For a good fit I dont mind the price as I'll wear them til they fall apart.
I've been looking on ebay too!

I hate high rise too, I'm short and they go up to my boobs ! Plus I think low rise is more flattering on my figure !

VirtualHamster · 02/02/2020 08:37

Last pair were diesel from the charity shop, ones before that TKMaxx - mih (Not a brand I'd heard of before)

PhoneLock · 02/02/2020 09:18

I prefer low rise too but have had to settle for mid rise. Top shop Leigh and Zara. Ebay is an option too if you don't mind taking a gamble on them fitting.

StarlightLady · 02/02/2020 09:20

@VirtualHamster - Diesel at full price are very expensive, so well done.

As an aside, who was this person (man?) who suddenly decided we want trousers which come up to our tits?

BetterWithCheddar · 02/02/2020 09:24

I think high rise work for lots of women but I have a short torso and they do not work for me! I can do midrise but low rise balance my proportions better.

Completely agree, most uncomfortable style ever. Not to mention it just dont suit my body, or many people really

VirtualHamster · 02/02/2020 09:48

@StarLightLady - they still had the tags on too!

They were actually the second pair of Diesel jeans I had from that shop, also had a D&G pair. The price is a bonus of course, but the main reason I was looking in charity shops is the current cuts/fashions are awful on me.

Livedandlearned · 02/02/2020 10:07

@LaCerbiatta how much were they in TKMaxx? I like that fit.

Cailindeas35 · 02/02/2020 17:19

H&m and zara do low rise. Very comfy.
Search for them.on the site. Also I noticed river island have a pair, I haven't tried them yet.

HappyHolidays75 · 02/02/2020 18:02

Thanks everyone. I've ordered h+m to start.
Quite relieved to read I'm not the only one who hates the higher rises! I'm short but not petite, and they are just uncomfy!

Vero Moda usually do some. Also Guess.
But I find even jeans labelled low rise aren’t always that low rise! Doesn’t help shops hardly ever give rise measurements. It’s my life’s work to keep myself in low rise jeans and trousers, I keep hearing they are coming back into fashion but doesn’t seem like the high street knows it. Different rises suit different people, all I want is some diversity in what is available!!

LaCerbiatta · 02/02/2020 23:25

@Livedandlearned : They were £50. They have a (deliberate) rip on one knee and frayed hems. Boyfriendish style I would say.

Branster · 03/02/2020 06:56

TableNiner you are so right, advertised as low rise isn’t always low rise.
I hate high waisted jeans (and trousers) and dislike mid rise as well.
Low rise feels much more comfortable and suits certain shapes better, fits nicer on a smaller arse and flat stomach, belts also look better on a low rise (more rock’n’roll) and I cannot understand why there’s been such a decline in availability. Everything else feels like wearing a boiler suit to me.
I have some old Levi’s that I hang onto and they are the best fit. Otherwise H&M or Hollister sometimes have a small selection of low rise but the quality is not as good and they don’t last as long.

I totally agree, although the decline in availability could be linked to the decline in popularity of the smaller arse and flat stomach.

Low rise jeans/trousers
Ginfordinner · 03/02/2020 08:35

How do you find low rise comfortable? I am pear shaped and low rise trousers cut into me and always feel like they are falling down. I don't think low rise look flattering on anyone?

PhoneLock · 03/02/2020 08:42

Each to their own. I think the same about high rise. Great if you want your bum to look the size of a planet. I don't.

fishonabicycle · 03/02/2020 09:00

Yes! I far prefer low rise jeans - high rise just feel like wearing an old lady corset.

Ginfordinner · 03/02/2020 09:18

I am tall though which is probably why low rise feel like they are falling down on me.

I think trousers and jeans should be available in all rises then everyone would be catered for.
