I got a very nice gift voucher last year and I’ve been thinking about this YSL. I like the subtle branding. I usually dislike the big YSL branding but this is lovely. But I’m just thinking. I’m not 100%. It’s not something I can buy v easily, - my last big bag purchase was over 10 years ago, a Bottega Veneta so I need to think about it.

Love a YSL envelope clutch too. And the BV knot clutches. If someone knows what they are, they know - and if they don’t, they can’t think you’re a show off twat with low self esteem. Which I might be. But have invested in more stealth wealth labels recently to hide this!

What if it sells out? I was perving over a tan YSL suede bag on Matches this past autumn, dithered about in a financially responsible way then the fucker got sold out. Just saying; there’s a returns policy for a reason! If it arrives and you have a sense of horror or think “I shouldn’t have spent that” then return it. If you dance about hugging it, then you did the right thing.....

I love the look of the Marc Jacobs Classic Q in forest green. Unfortunately I can’t find one for love nor money.
I also fantasise about my ideal bag . Very soft napa leather. Two straps, lots of pockets. Very soft straps. I saw one in Venice and didn’t buy it. I wish I had because I can’t find anything online or in shops to compare.

@Juniper45 I know! I have a habit of playing chicken with these things. Ridiculous. Had a look on the YSL site and the croc one is NOWHERE TO BE SEEN! So I will gird my loins and order. Tomorrow. I’m such a ditherer. As you say, returns policy.

I bought a Lily, black with silver hardware last year and it's my 'going out bag' I was surprised at just how soft it is. It's just big enough for purse, phone, keys and a few bits of makeup

I don't have a big birthday coming up, but I would love the Tom Ford Tara bag. It is not a new bag, but I really like it as an every day bag, and it is a bit more structured than my other bags.
I have a 12 month old so prefer cross body bags at the moment.

I am unlikely to get it as a present as my husband thinks I have too many bags. I see where he is coming from, but then again, can one have to many bags?

No, one can never have too many bags (having said that, I cleared out at least ten last year because I felt that I did, indeed, have too many!).

@WellHolyGodMiley Thanks! I love my bags 🥰🥰🥰 I’m using my Bayswater now but my Mitzy comes out every summer because I love wearing her with denim, a tee and sandals. She’s quite a few years old now, maybe five? And still looks brand new. I’ve got so many nice casual bags that my next few are going to be more dressy I think (unless the Millie tempts me too much! Or the Leighton which I also love...).

Top of my list to buy next is the Aspinal Midi Mayfair in Evergreen (one of my most favourite colours!), then the Micro Mayfair in midnight blue (also one of my favourite colours).

Top of my list for my big purchase next year is the LV Alma BB. But I’m a little bit put off because I’m not sure LV works as well in the U.K. as it does elsewhere. I love it in theory but I’m not sure I will love it in practice.

@WellHolyGodMiley That BV bag is a lovely colour (burgundy is another favourite), but not the red I’m looking for. I want something like Gucci red, maybe a smidge darker? I’ll know it when I see it, but I do most of my shopping online so it’s difficult.

I forgot all about BV. I think that will go on my list for my 50th, along with Chloe and Celine.

I got this for my birthday, it's excellent quality and the price is reasonable. For my 50th next year I'm going to Australia and can't afford an expensive bag.

@TheReef argh that always sucks! Although to be fair up til now I’ve kept to my policy of only buying bags that are reduced. However that does rather limit one’s selection, and as I start to be more careful about exactly what bags I really, really want, and only buying those, I expect I might have to buy full price sometimes rather than hoping to snag it in a sale.

Who actually gives a damn what other people think? This low self esteem line is a load of stale bullshit peddled by bitter, envious people. You have a logo bag that cost 2k and some people love to snipe. You wear an unbranded blouse from the same designer that costs the same amount and no one says a thing. You feel fabulous either way.
