‘Loose Women style’

Saw this on another thread and realised that at 47 it’s the look I most want to avoid. What epitomises it for you?

I’ll start - love a bit of leopard print but not sure if it’s verging on LWS. I’ve got a lovely sweatshirt which someone at work asked whether it was from Hush (no, Next!) but my bf thought it was more ‘mum on a night out’ (I wasn’t offended, he knows nothing about fashion and we’ve got a very piss taking sort of relationship 😊)

Bright tops with black slacks.
Glitter
Statement jewellery

TooMuch87 · 25/01/2020 13:51

Blazers. Animal print. Bright primary colours.

You'll always see at least 2 out of 3 of these on every show (see the Loose Women Instagram page for confirmation).

frenchblue · 25/01/2020 16:20

Well I’m safe in that I don’t wear much colour and only simple jewellery but I fear my love of animal print might be my downfall 😬

Villanomme · 25/01/2020 16:39

Oh god am I going to have to rethink an animal print blouse I have as a 50 something woman 😳

I do wear it with wide legged, slouchy trousers and a pair of trainers.

I'm now paranoid Confused

The Loose Women always seem to wear false lashes and heavy eye makeup.

Auldspinster · 25/01/2020 20:32

Ridiculously high heels.

JaneJeffer · 25/01/2020 23:28

'Loose women style' make me laugh earlier when I saw it too. The bright and jewel toned block colours definitely play a part but I wonder if they are made to go down that route to distinguish them from each other. Also have a theory they are ordered to each wear a different neckline- that's why you see so many dubious choices such as square necked or pussybow etc

I’d avoid a hot pink blazer with faux leather trousers and heels. A low cut camisole displaying ample cleavage and worn under a fitted blazer. Talons. Full make up. A perfectly blow dried smoothly choppy bob. Lots of polyester.

SomewhereNow · 27/01/2020 13:43

@Tubernose I think it was this one www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/3804840-Are-statement-necklaces-out-of-fashion

I usually think Penny Lancaster dresses well, I would love to emulate her.
I will have to have a re- think.

Patent leather heels, especially stilettos like LK Bennett Sledge.
