I know I'm late to the party but isn't CeraVe brilliant?

Seriously , I can't believe how good it is. I've been using it for about 8 weeks and it's transformed my skin.

I read a post of here about how it's got ceramides in it and that's why it's so good ( will have to Google what that are!)

My rosacea has practically gone,no dryness or flakiness any more ,it's a bloody miracleSmile

I’ve been using it for a couple of years (face wash and moisturiser), and I love it as well. I wish they did refillable bottles as I’m gradually managing to get other plastics out of the bathroom, but I keep rebuying it as it’s just so good on me.

runwithme · 22/01/2020 18:08

If you're late to the party I dont think I even got an invite! Tell me more....I need something quick as I've caught a glance of my face in a bright mirror and hated what I saw!

It's amazing. I have rough textured, ageing skin. No amount of serums was changing it but this has transformed the texture completely. And only €14!

SoulStarS · 22/01/2020 18:29

Yes, what product please? My dry, sensitive skin hasn’t met the ‘one’ yet.

ThomasHardyPerennial · 22/01/2020 18:43

My sensitive skin didn't like the facial moisturising lotion in the pump tube, which is annoying as I really want to try a cleanser.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 22/01/2020 19:50

Might it be any good for my son’s acne? God knows, we’ve tried everything.

Kwkwjwkek · 22/01/2020 19:51

What products? I wanted to try their foaming face wash

Apileofballyhoo · 22/01/2020 19:53

What have you tried, LadyAnne?

I found the hydrating cleanser a bit sting-y, Thomas, but I'm fine with the moisturiser. I might try the cleanser again at some stage.

MsNobody · 22/01/2020 19:57

I love moisturiser in the giant tub. I used to buy it from Amazon before Cerave came to Europe. It helped me massively in repairing badly damaged skin barrier. I've also tried pm lotion and it was OK but too light. Hand cream was just fine, had better ones. I'm currently using hydrating cleanser and like it a lot. Very gentle but effective.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 22/01/2020 20:02

We've had stuff from the doctors which was too harsh.
Organic stuff from Green People.
Dr Organic Vit E wash and acne scar cream
He has a Foreo Luna
He takes Vit E orally
Aveeno Cream with Colloidal Oats
Dear ALEX ... worked well at first. Then didn’t.
Clinique stuff. A three step program with a brush (looked like a big tooth brush).
Others...can’t think off the top of my head.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 22/01/2020 20:02

Dermalex...not Dear ALEX! 😂

gypsywater · 22/01/2020 20:04

I liked it too but then found out that they test all of their products on animals unfortunately so I have moved to REN - much better products actually and are also cruelty free, yay!

TheLadyAnneNeville · 22/01/2020 20:08

Animals! No. Just, NO!

Thestrangestthing · 22/01/2020 20:10

@TheLadyAnneNeville

Have you tried acnecide? I use it for breakouts. It's good. It hasnt stopped me getting breakouts, they aren't as bad as they used to be, they still happen, but the acnecide clears the spots up much faster.

botemp · 22/01/2020 20:18

Cerave does not test on animals but it's owned by L'Oréal which allows third party testing to be able to sell in China (but has been a massive force on getting China to change their policy on this, going as far as to develop alternative testing that does not harm animals) so by some people's definition it's not cruelty free but the brand itself does not test on animals, just like a few of the other brands on TheLadyAnne's list.

I really love their hydrating cleanser, it's probably the cheapest and best morning/second cleanse I've found. I'm not as wowed by the PM lotion but I don't think it's bad either. Agree on refills, though a lot of their products are available in 1liter bottles, so that's something. I keep meaning to try the SA cream for my Keratosis Pilaris. Anyone tried it on KP by any chance?

JeffreysWorkTrousers · 22/01/2020 20:18

CeraVe say "CeraVe products are not tested on animals and they are cruelty free"

CeraVe was promoted to me by Nadine Baggot's video on skin prone to breakouts. She says skin is skin, it shouldn't matter what age that skin is.

So Ds1 is a spotty teen, he uses CeraVe face wash and Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA. It does seem to be helping.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 22/01/2020 20:19

@Thestrangestthing...no haven’t tried it. As I say, the stuff from the dr burnt like anything so, we kind of went gentle/organic. His skin is really dry and sensitive. He’s got a fair bit of scaring now which is such a shame.

Thestrangestthing · 22/01/2020 20:24

I've been using this one but for my face. I was using the actual face moisturiser but ut was tiny and the same price as that massive one. Seems to be doing the same job.
Was using the spf one but it was nipping my eyes something terrible so had to stop unfortunately.

I know I'm late to the party but isn't CeraVe brilliant?
Thestrangestthing · 22/01/2020 20:26

Ah, the acnecide does dry the skin quite a bit, it burnt my cheeks
Lickily that's a place I dont breakout often. Ut is supposed to be more gentle than the presctions from the doctors, but still may be too strong.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 22/01/2020 20:32

Thanks @TheStrangestThing... it’s a swine. Feel so sorry for him because he’s not the most confident teen.

Sunflower20 · 22/01/2020 20:42

Agreed. I use the moisturising cream in the massive tub as well, amazing product which has transformed my skin. I think it's the most hydrating moisturiser I've ever tried plus it's non-greasy which is important.
I have very dry and sensitive skin with redness due to adult acne.

Dollywilde · 22/01/2020 20:44

It’s been brilliant for DH’s dry and sensitive skin. Not done much for mine but my skin is doing odd things at the moment due to pregnancy so I’m inclined to just ride it out! May try it again afterwards.

SusieSusieSoo · 22/01/2020 21:00

@theladyannenevilleI would go back to the dr. The first line treatment I had made my skin incredibly sore & burnt. There are much better treatments for acne. Mine was resolved when I was early 30's wish I had seen a consultant dermatologist age 15 instead of 32.

I have some scarring. Dsis has much more.

If acne is bad it needs more than skincare products to sort it unfortunately. Having good skin is such a confidence booster whereas bad skin is the opposite x
