'Giftworthy' bar soap

Abelino · 20/01/2020 08:21

I need to get someone bar soap (for hands, not shower use) as part of a birthday present; I want to get them 2-3 so I'm thinking £10 maximum.

Something nicely scented but not Lush would be great (I like Lush but their soaps disappear so fast). The Liberty ones are packaged really nicely and the scents sound nice, but I hate buying without reviews!

Any suggestions gratefully received!

I really love Cole and co soaps - they have a shop on Anglesey near my parents house but I get them online too and they've been well received as presents. They're soft and lovely to use and the scents are beautiful.

Watching for other people's suggestions though, I love a bar of soap as an occasional treat.

TK Maxx soaps always look lovely. Lots in pretty little tins or boxes.
I love looking at them all.

DrivingMsCrazy · 20/01/2020 09:06

Arran Aromatics do lovely soaps.

pinkyboots1 · 20/01/2020 09:08

I received a double milled soap in a musical box for Christmas that came from TKmaxx and I love it... well worth a look

FamilyOfAliens · 20/01/2020 09:11

L’Occitane soaps are lovely - I got two from DH in my Christmas stocking so I couldn’t tell you how much they are!

Mumdiva99 · 20/01/2020 09:18

I like a browse in tk maxx for soap as they have a lot of choice.

My current favourite gift is a bar of soap and a bar of shampoo. (I have bought lots of different brands).

brassbrass · 20/01/2020 09:19

I always ask for soap in my stocking and usually get something from tkmax. Not keen on citrus scents personally but the floral and musky woody ones are good. They are quite large bars and about £4 each.

This year I got some Oliver bonas ones but I think these are pricey at £5 each.

Had stuff off Amazon as well. Lots of lovely french soap there.

OrlandoInTheWilderness · 20/01/2020 09:19

I got a royal horticulture society set for Christmas- it is utterly lovely.

SomeLikeItTepid · 20/01/2020 09:19

I second L'Occitane soaps.

Inforthelonghaul · 20/01/2020 09:21

Bomb do some lovely fake lush soaps and bath bombs and they’re a fraction of the price. Often found at garden centres in the gift dept.

fedup21 · 20/01/2020 09:22

The Nesti Dante ones are gorgeous-cost just under £5.

RoseAndRose · 20/01/2020 09:24

Liberty soaps are lovely, and the ones with the Cold Cream scent are my favourite. They smell just as soap should

PickleBottomNo3sMum · 20/01/2020 09:32

If you do look in TKMaxx, I recommend LePetitOlivier french soap is fab, it’s in a brown paper packaging.

I've rediscovered the joy of bar soap so watching with interest. I've been disappointed by how many start to crack after a while so I keep going back to Dove. I realise this is not the kind of suggestion you were after Grin

Pajamagirl · 20/01/2020 09:47

Loccitane soap , you can get mini ones (travel ) think they are about £4.50 each and you can get large ones for £9 , I think they also group them and that works out a bit cheaper
Lovely scents Shea is like baby powder and their citrus ones are fresh and clean .
I always hope for one ( or two ) in my Christmas stocking

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 20/01/2020 09:50

Nesti Dante,look on Amazon.

Mybobowler · 20/01/2020 09:50

I've been on a quest for a good bar soap for months now, and Neal's Yard are my favourite by a mile. They smell divine (the orange and geranium one is my favourite) and they're really gentle.

ClaudiaNaughton · 20/01/2020 09:52

Nesti Dante Amazon lots of choice.

MaidenMotherCrone · 20/01/2020 09:54

Nesti Dante...... beautiful

CocoLoco87 · 20/01/2020 09:55

Came on to say L'occitane bar soaps are lovely

squeamishsquamish · 20/01/2020 09:57

I wouldn't give this soap as a gift but I've just discovered Ivory soap. It's lovely! And cheap, too.

Soap [[https://yorkshiresoap.co.uk/botanical-soap-bar-gift-box]]

Love the botanicals from there. Also rate the heather and hedgerow soaps. Gorgeous. I just wish they did pill shapes/rounded edges - don't understand the sharp edged soap trend.

Lojoh · 20/01/2020 10:01

o.O Not sure what happened there.

I love these ones on Amazon. Good, strong scents, but not overpowering.
