Hello having heard lots of great things I have got one of these in the sales in the hope of being free of shaving this summer. Anyone want to share experiences/ tips? Going to pick it up on Wednesday....

I have one used it twice def seeing a difference on my tash. Love it

Iwalkinmyclothing · 26/05/2020 11:04

You know how you are categorically told not to tan (whether under the sun, a demon bed or by fake tanning) whilst using it? Do you think if you are very pale skinned (seriously, I have the sort of pale skin that makes people stop and go, god you're white, as if I had never noticed) and you get a slight tan, that will make much difference?

Misfi · 26/05/2020 11:31

I'm to very pale, I was gardening and got a bit of colour on my face after using it and hasn't caused me any problems I'm so impressed with the results so far.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 26/05/2020 11:41

Thanks @Misfi! That's reassuring :)

Hi shaved my legs 4 days ago and I used the ipl they need doing again, just wondering would it be worth doing the ipl again.

SuzanneSays · 27/05/2020 12:40

Hands down the best purchase I have ever made- wish I had got one sooner!
To those worried about shaving their face- me too! I just use it one my moustache and chin without shaving and it still works- possibly not as well as it would with shaving.
I’ve had mine for about 4/5 years now and do my
Legs about every six
Months if I see a patch of hair coming through.
Remember to charge it once a month regardless of using or it will break.

Misfi · 27/05/2020 14:51

Hi does it burn if using it without shaving

Sally99 · 27/05/2020 15:44

I've got white whiskers coming through on my chin - so embarrassing. Would it work on them?

SuzanneSays · 27/05/2020 16:11

Hi @Misfi - it doesn’t burn no- sometimes you can smell a singeing hair but that’s quite satisfying Grin

@Sally99 me too! It doesn’t work as well on pale hair. Mine has reduced but still have a few stubborn white whiskers!

Marahute · 31/05/2020 12:55

I used mine for the first time yesterday. Armpits, bikini line, lower legs (to just above knee) and feet, including big toes (Blush).

Everything other than legs was easy peasy. I found legs tedious and I easily lost track of where I had already flashed. Hopefully I did a thorough enough job though. I have a few moles/freckles on my legs but just went for it anyway.

I may be imagining it, but I shaved my legs yesterday morning and it does feel as though usually they would be more stubbley by now. I can feel the prickly hair ends but they are still very short, as if they have not long been shaved.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the hairs to all fall out? Presumably a few weeks? I don't usually notice my body hairs falling out (except the occasional pube!) so wondering how long it will take before this happens?
I do have an epilator somewhere... so could epilate them if I can find the time... presumably that may speed up the process....

Misfi · 01/06/2020 14:04

Hi I have I have used mine 3 times now legs face arms and arm pits. my arm pits had only a small amount of growth this week so happy with that. An improvement on my upper lip, parts of my arms have not grown back at all. I haven't done my bikini yet how was that? A lot of people say that shaving is a lot better than any other hair removal methods. I also have freckles and moles but went for it any way

tibradden · 13/06/2020 23:54

Hi. Bought a Lumea with unexpected Amazon refund just before lockdown. Could never bear waxing on underarms. But now am hair free underarms. It’s all gone. Legs were always patchy from waxing/epilating but only a few patches left now. Going to start on bikini line now.

Marahute · 14/06/2020 13:01

How is everyone getting on? I did my second treatment yesterday. I am hoping to start seeing some results now! I don't think I really noticed anything happening after the first use (which I am sure is normal), although I am an ideal candidate in terms of skin (pale) and hair (dark). I am determined not to give up on it either way, but some noticable reductions would definitely help to keep me committed to it.
I am just a bit nervous that I will be one of those people it doesn't seem to work for....

Misfi · 14/06/2020 16:20

Hi I was so worried that it would not work for me.,but it has my horrible black chin hairs are gone my armpits only have a small amount of growth and my arm hair never grew back. Ive had 4 sessions soooo happy

Bigbrowproblems · 14/06/2020 16:26

I bought one a month ago and haven't used it. I have no idea why! 😂

Saw this thread and think it's a sign!

I've got tattoos though and didn't think about it.

Anyone got tats and managed to successfully cover them up to use it?

FlibbertyGiblets · 14/06/2020 16:30

What about dreadful side burns? Am tempted as I scissor my sideburns with my dressmaking shears Blush. Sorely tempted.

EdinaMonsoon · 14/06/2020 16:48

I did my third zapping session last weekend & only now need to shave my legs 7 days later. The hair that has grown back is quite patchy & not especially long - a couple of millimetres at most. Seems to be working despite my having quite tanned legs.

Lndnmummy · 14/06/2020 17:47

I started using mine at the beginning of lockdown. I was most worried about my upper legs and bikini area but that’s where it’s worked the best. I’m still doing two week intervals but I don’t need to shave anymore now which is an absolute miracle for for me. It’s not hairfree yet but even at this rate it’s a game changer. Shaving once every two weeks and zero stubble in between is really no big deAl. I suspect it will continue to get better too

Misfi · 14/06/2020 18:44

Hi haven't started on bikini yet is it awkward to do and does it hurt?

ATowelAndAPotato · 14/06/2020 19:42

@Bigbrowproblems I have a lower leg tattoo, for now I am just going round it! Luckily my hair is already patchy there anyway.

@FlibbertyGiblets I did my sideburns and they responded really well after only one treatment, hardly any regrowth of the dark hair, still a bit peach fuzzy, but light enough in colour that it’s not noticeable (unlike the black pube-like hairs that were growing there before)!

FlibbertyGiblets · 14/06/2020 19:49

ATowelAndAPotato wow that is exactly what I wanted to be told. Cheers m'dear!

JesmondDene · 14/06/2020 20:21

Please can anyone help, thinking of buying too but have a question.

Does hair grow back if you stop using? Or used on dark hair now and overtime, but then hair became grey....would the hair regrow as it becomes grey?
Or is that a really daft question....

Paddyclova · 14/06/2020 21:31

I have a tattoo on my foot/ankle and i zapped it with the lumea and burned it quite severely

mcdog · 14/06/2020 21:51

This is my all time, number one, top position, beauty buy. I love it!!

gillyweed · 14/06/2020 21:54

I've bought one and I've just finished the 2nd session, I think I can already see the difference... Its not painful at all and quite quick! I'm hoping for good things.

I have a question, wonder if anyone can help! I have pale skin but on my arms I'm covered in freckles and the odd mole, the hair is light brown/ blonde- I would love to get rid of my hairy arms!!! Will it work on freckly skin or do them some damage?! I can't find any info on this on the Phillips site etc.
