Unhappy with fillers I got and torn on what I should do

I have recently got cheek fillers done , what I wanted was mid face filler to give me fuller cheeks since I started losing volume and I repeatedly told the doctor what I want and how I want it but instead was given sharp and pointy cheekbones and I didn’t get the volume I wanted . I paid a few hundred pounds for this procedure and did not get what I wanted or asked for. The doctor is a really lovely lady and I don’t know what to do , I would love to get a refund though because I told her what I want and she did the complete opposite but I feel rather embarrassed to go and ask for this . I don’t even know whether I will get a refund or not . Does anyone else have a similar experience ?? Is it possible to even get a refund and what do you think I should do in this case ??

Did you say anything at the time?

Did the Dr go through a consultation with you and explain where the filler was going to be placed?

If she did, and then injected in a different place then I would email her and calmly explain you aren't happy as this isn't what you asked for. And ask if it would be possible for her to dissolve the fillers and come to an arrangement regarding a refund.

When I saw her injecting me too high I asked her why she’s doing this and she told me I would get the results I wanted which are fuller cheeks in the mid face area and a cheek lift but instead I now have a contoured look which I repeatedly made clear that I do not want . I told her I don’t want high cheekbones and I don’t want a contoured look . I went along with it because obviously she’s the doctor so I assumed she knew best but clearly not since she completely ignored my requests and did the opposite of what I asked .She’s a lovely lady and I don’t want to cause a hassle , do you think I’m in the wrong for asking for a refund and do you think it’s even possible to get one if I get them dissolved and everything ??

How long ago were they done?

Lorenab · 12/01/2020 04:33

It was yesterday , 12 hours ago

It’s the way you look and you have to walk about unhappy with the way you look so of course you should let her know in the nicest possible way.

Inappropriatefemale · 12/01/2020 04:41

Do they settle down after so many hours? 12 hours isn’t long at all!

itsbetterthanabox · 12/01/2020 04:42

They are going to change significantly over the next 2 weeks.
I would wait as how they look now isn't the final look.

Mooey89 · 12/01/2020 04:42

I think you should give it a few days to settle - how they look now is not how they will look ‘healed’.

Do you have a follow up appointment? When I had my lips done the doctor booked me in for around 2 weeks after to check all was ok and happy.
If not, ask her if you can see her for follow up in around a week, and then discuss with her your disappointment and ask her to dissolve and redo as you actually wanted, or dissolve and refund.

Lorenab · 12/01/2020 10:38

I don’t have a follow up appointment and wasn’t given that option . It’s not even a matter of the filler settling down considering the filler isn’t placed in the area that I wanted so I can already see I am not getting the look I was going for . My face looks even thinner than before

She doesn’t sound very professional in that there’s no follow up appointment, is she properly qualified to do this or was it an advert on social media and you went to her house? These ones should be avoided.

Lorenab · 12/01/2020 11:27

She’s a doctor I went to her clinic , although she is overdone herself and has that fake look to her . She has a lot of followers on her page . If she got it done wrong the first time I don’t want to take any chances again since she completely disregarded my request and gave me something I didn’t ask for . Do you think I would be able to get a refund ??

Inappropriatefemale · 12/01/2020 11:28

God she doesn’t sound good at all op!!

Lorenab · 12/01/2020 11:29

what do you think I should do ??

NorthEndGal · 12/01/2020 11:31

I do t know if you will get a refund, but in future, speak up when it is happening. Say whoa, not there, please!

Lorenab · 12/01/2020 11:33

The thing is I told her several times not to place the filler high because I don’t want strong cheekbones , I told her I wanted a mid face lift and she said that’s exactly what it will do . So considering she’s the doctor I went along with it because I didn’t want to keep telling her how to do her job but I made it very very clear to her during the consultation what I wanted and where I wanted it

Get on the phone to her and tell her that your not happy and that you want it dissolved and maybe go somewhere that doesn’t have a business page on Facebook, I just don’t trust those.

Have you seen her certificate? I would google what qualifications someone that does that needs to have, and then check if she has it, she doesn’t sound like she knows wtf she is doing, everyone knows you get a follow up appointment for things like this, you get one with Botox too.

Lorenab · 12/01/2020 11:37

Shes an aesthetic doctor and no I haven’t seen her qualifications and didn’t ask for it . She’s popular on instagram I’ve seen the before and after pictures and they were good results , the problem is her not taking my word and instead giving me something I don’t want . I could pm you her page if you want to see . I didn’t know that a follow up appointment was needed , she never mentioned that to me

OP posts:
Inappropriatefemale · 12/01/2020 11:53

I’ve sent you a pm

Inappropriatefemale · 12/01/2020 11:53

It’s the not mentioning the follow up that makes me question her, not that she made a mistake as these things happen.

Lorenab · 12/01/2020 11:59

I’ve sent you a pm back . Yeah she never mentioned anything about having another appointment , matter of fact she never even told me the aftercare of the procedure . She gave me some cream and pills to take that will help with swelling and bruising which I don’t need . But she’s not told me how long I should wait before applying makeup or washing my face , which are the basics

OP posts:
Inappropriatefemale · 12/01/2020 12:22

Well I’ll keep you posted, will they be open today?

Lorenab · 12/01/2020 12:50

She’s not open on Sunday only Monday-Saturday & thanks

OP posts:
Inappropriatefemale · 12/01/2020 12:54

Ok, hopefully she will message tomorrow.

Chihaha · 12/01/2020 13:00

Def get in touch asap as if you leave it any length of time she will say you were happy enough at the time.

Inappropriatefemale · 12/01/2020 13:03

Does anybody here believe that you should ask to see someone’s certificate before they inject you with these types of things?

I read on the internet that you have the right to ask to see it and just because someone says they are qualified to do something then it doesn’t mean they are.

Not that the doctor did anything wrong, she made a mistake but no follow up appointment is odd.
