Do these bras fit?

I need help Blush. I haven’t had my boobs measured in ages and I’ve definitely been wearing the wrong size bra as my nipples pop out at every opportunity.

I recently went into my local M&S, asked to be measured and they directed me towards a man so I walked out.

I’ve been wearing a 34C and these two are a 32D. Do they look like they fit? I’ve been reading threads on here and it seems as if you ladies know more than the actual fitters!

Do they look too tight around the band? I tried a 34d on but the cups gaped at the top.

The first cup looks a bit small. Have you scooped breast tissue in from the sides? The 2nd bra is sitting low on your rib cage, can you move it so the wire sits right under your breasts

dementedpixie · 11/01/2020 14:36

booborbust.com if you have a measuring tape you could get an idea of size from here

KMoKMo · 11/01/2020 16:43

No sorry I don’t think they do. Do you have a bravissimo nearby? I’d never go anywhere else now.

GoBackToPartyCity · 11/01/2020 17:36

The second one is a lot more padded than it looked online so that may be why it’s not sitting quite right? I don’t feel like my boobs are big enough to be an E cup!

I think I’ll just have to bite the bullet and go to bravissimo. There’s one about 20 miles away in Manchester so I’ll take a trip in. I’ve only got a metal tape measure so don’t think that’ll do the trick Grin.

No they’re both much too small in the cup. Do the Boob or Bust calculator linked above, and never get measured in M&S, they’re shit

BuffaloCauliflower · 11/01/2020 17:38

Get a measuring tape, they’re literally a pound in supermarkets

Bluntness100 · 11/01/2020 17:39

I think thr bands look too tight, they are digging in and must be uncomfortable and leave marks.

BuffaloCauliflower · 11/01/2020 17:41

Also there is no E cup really, the letter only exists in relation to the band - it’s how many more inches you are over bust than under bust (the number(. A 30E and a 34E are entirely different sizes for example. An E is really not very big with proper measurement on any band, only 6 inches more over bust than under, which means each breast sticking out by 3 inches. Not much when you think about it.

ZaZathecat · 11/01/2020 17:42

From the photos you look like quite a slight build, so I wouldn't be surprised if you're only a 30" band. Just measure around your ribcage beneath your breasts for the band size. Then measure around the fullest part, bending over so all breast tissue is included. It's one cup size for wach inch difference. E.g. rinb cage 30", fullest part 33" would be a 30C.

ZaZathecat · 11/01/2020 17:42

Oops typos: each, rib.

BuffaloCauliflower · 11/01/2020 17:43

@Bluntness100 the band looks fine and some sock type marks are to be expected in a bra that fits properly, it should be quite tight as most of the support should come from the band. Too many bras are fitted with too loose and therefore unsupportive bands

C8H10N4O2 · 11/01/2020 17:44

Were M&S not able to provide a woman to fit you? I would have thought it a common request, very disappointing if they don't provide this.

BuffaloCauliflower · 11/01/2020 17:45

Sorry I’m being a bit rambly here! Agree with PP, what dress size are you, you look pretty small for a 32 (I’m a size 12 and usually a 32, sometimes a 30. You should generally expect your band size to not be more than your dress size plus 20)

BuffaloCauliflower · 11/01/2020 17:46

@C8H10N4O2 anyone wanting a properly fitting bra should avoid M&S entirely, whoever’s doing the fitting

bsc · 11/01/2020 17:47

You don't need a measuring tape- use something flexible eg a long electrical cable, athe edge of a tablecloth, a piece of string etc and measure that against the tape measure!

LauraPalmersBodybag · 11/01/2020 17:47

They all look too small for you op. I’d recommend Bravissimo too if you can get to one. They’re worth the journey.

MrsH497 · 11/01/2020 17:49

Too small I'd say. I'm a 28/30f Bravissimo is brilliant please avoid M&S they're awful they don't measure properly

Fairylea · 11/01/2020 17:49

Cup size is too small, back size too large. I would put money on you being a 30E / F.

Measure yourself around the ribs holding the measuring tape tightly and then leaning over around your boobs when they’re dangling and post the measurements here. Whatever size you measure around your ribs is the back size you should be buying - m and s are awful for adding inches on which is wrong.

C8H10N4O2 · 11/01/2020 17:52

I've never been fitted there but I've heard negative reviews. However what surprised me was a bra fitting service which wasn't offering a woman fitter.

Bluntness100 · 11/01/2020 17:56

Buffalo, bras should never give a bulge and the op has a clear bulge in both bras, the band is too tight. I think this is likely the reason so many women on here want to take their bras off as soon as they get home, because they think bulging and leaving marks is the right size

It's not.

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 11/01/2020 18:03

Bluntness100 that's not true. Bulge of flesh is absolutely fine. The support comes from the band so it needs to be snug. Mine bulges, it's completely natural. I have been fitted correctly. My bra is the most comfortable I've ever had and I never feel I need to take it off until I go to bed

GoBackToPartyCity · 11/01/2020 18:04

Thanks everyone, I knew I could count on you! I’m clueless Smile.

I’m a size 10 on top for those asking.

I’m hoping that being directed towards the man in M&S was a mistake as I can’t think of anyone I know being comfortable with that. It put me off going back though!

Have a look at boob or bust on Facebook a different way to measure. Those bras don’t fit you

Fairylea · 11/01/2020 18:10

I’m a size 14/16 and I wear a 30G. If you’re a size 10 I think it’s very unlikely those bras are the right size for you.

sparklefarts · 11/01/2020 18:12

Mine bulges

But that just sounds like it would really uncomfortable! You spend all day with a bra digging in so tight it leaves a bulge?
