Does an hi one have this?
I’ve been lusting after it but at £50+ I don’t want to waste money if it’s not 100% amazing

Ohh placemarking as I was about to ask exactly same thing😂

Sazquatch · 28/12/2019 08:28

After reading the ‘expensive make up’ thread I now want it too. Which one is everyone talking about though? Can someone link?

SandyDays · 28/12/2019 08:33

I think I must have read the same thread, I've been wondering about this for a few days - but at £56 I'm so unsure.

I have it and love it!

Definitely worth the money imo. My makeup doesn't feel finished without it now.

I got one last Christmas and it's still going. Will last another few months I reckon. And I wear it everyday so it's good value.

beautifulstranger101 · 28/12/2019 08:41

I have Dim light. Its the best powder ive ever had- it makes your skin glow as if you were "lit by candles". I will never stop buying it.

That said, I would not buy the pallette because Ive tested the other powders and they dont match my skin tone at all. If I had bought that pallette, two of those colours would be completely wasted and its very expensive. I know its annoying, but considering the price I really recommend you go in store and test it in real life rather than buy it blind. Then buy the full single pallette. Of course you might find they all suit you in which case lucky you! But generally, we usually use more of one colour than another which means you end up hitting pan on one and the others get wasted.

Also, if you like highlighters, I really recommend Fenty's range (now sold in Boots) she has a range of highlighters out which are absolutely stunning- gold ones, rose gold, beige, brown etc etc they really are beautiful - and have more of a glitter/sheen than hourglass.

Ellapaella · 28/12/2019 08:58

Does anyone know if you can buy this in John Lewis? I have a voucher which will make the price more acceptable for me to try it, am very tempted!

JoanBonJovi · 28/12/2019 08:59

I’ve got the powder or is the bronzing powder and it’s okay it’s fine I wouldn’t rave about it though

NemophilistRebel · 28/12/2019 09:00

You. An use John Lewis vouchers to buy it online but it’s only stocked at one of their stores in Liverpool I think.

I haven’t been able to find anywhere to test it

I’m looking for something I can use that covers - overall face powder, highlighter, blush/bronze and eyes all in one

MooMinCow · 28/12/2019 09:01

You can only order it online in John Lewis. I would try instore somewhere else to select shade then order. I’ve done it that way before and used JL vouchers no problem.

SandyDays · 28/12/2019 09:03

Beautifulstranger- do you mind me asking what skin tone you would say you have if dim light works well for you?

beautifulstranger101 · 28/12/2019 09:07

Sure- I'm around NW20 ish I'd say with pink/blue undertones - so am cool toned. At first glance, Dim seems warm but it works for me.
Description:
"DIM LIGHT: A neutral peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with the perfect balance of warm and cool tones"
I guess its neutral which is why I can pull it off!

Earlgreybee · 28/12/2019 09:11

You can get a travel size of dim light in Space nk for £20.

Cheesymonster · 28/12/2019 09:12

I’m intrigued too. Is it a setting powder or a highlighter? Do you use it all over your face? My current face powder is too heavy but I feel like I need something on top of my tinted moisturiser.

beautifulstranger101 · 28/12/2019 09:18

I personally use it instead of setting powder because I have dry skin and i like a dewy/glowy look. If you are very oily- this won't get rid of it, so you'd need to use something else for blotting your oily zones.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what you are meant to do with Dim light- its the colour of skin rather than being an obvious highlighter so I just use it like a powder to enhance my skin texture and overall look- I'm not sure how you could use Dim as a highlighter as its more like normal powder. I dont need to use another powder with Dim, I dont even use foundation any more.
I use Perricone face firming tinted moisturiser (SPF 30) then whack on Dim light over the top- doesnt look cakey or heavy, just a beautiful "lit" finish.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/12/2019 09:26

I don't have the palette but I have one of the powders and love it.

BuffaloCauliflower · 28/12/2019 09:30

Love mine, I’m on my second in about 3 years despite constant use as they last ages. I tend to do a swirl of them al together all over my face like a setting powder, makes you look instantly healthier. Sometimes the two beiger ones all over and the pinker one over my blusher (also an hourglass ambient lighting blusher) I just love it. I’m fair skinned but not the palest, peach/neutral undertones

BuffaloCauliflower · 28/12/2019 09:33

I also have this older palettes which is more varied and also amazing

Lamentations · 28/12/2019 10:50

I'm fair and have Dim light. I'd have thought it looked too dark from the pictures online but it isn't. It's sort of halfway between a powder and a highlighter (I generally avoid highlighter) and is nice. I got mine from John Lewis online when they had 20% off for Black Friday but I had tested it in Liberty first.

beautifulstranger101 · 28/12/2019 10:52

@buffalocauliflower
Totally drooling over that- so pretty!

BuffaloCauliflower · 28/12/2019 11:05

@beautifulstranger101 they are all gorgeous bits. Must haves for me

beautifulstranger101 · 28/12/2019 11:11

@buffalocauliflower
Yes! The blushes are lovely too- very subtle

SandyDays · 28/12/2019 21:58

Thanks for all the helpful advice today, I've bought the Dim Light single pack and an hourglass primer online - I wish I could have gone into a store to try it first but we don't have any stockists nearby

NemophilistRebel · 28/12/2019 22:01

Come back and report @SandyDays once you receive it Grin

I have the ghost palette:

and use it every day over my regular foundation and powder. It's amazing. You can use a little or a lot depending on the look you want- makes me feel much more polished. I recommend it highly- and bought it for a friend for Christmas. She was delighted ⭐️

HelloAgainYou · 28/12/2019 22:12

Hi OP

If you're keen to get some hourglass (I've just bought a palette and a lipstick yesterday but not tried it on yet) and you're close to Bicester Village, go to their pop up. I think the palette I bought was at least £10 off.

I only bought it because so many people were raving about it on here! It better be bloody good as I spent over £100 on stuff! Shock
