What high street mascara would you recommend?

I'm looking for a black mascara, that adds volume and length, around the £10 mark (although bonus if it costs less!) I used to use L'oréal Voluminous but it's not the same as it was 🤷🏻‍♀️

No 7 tubing mascara in the gold tube. I used to get panda eyes within ten minutes of applying mascara and this stuff stays on all day long. Easy to remove too.

LimaOscarLima · 08/12/2019 17:34

I also use natural collection, I use the waterproof version even though it's not very waterproof I prefer it to the normal version.

Another vote for the number 7 tubing one in the gold tube. It does not budge, but washes off very easily ( normally in the shower the next day)
Been using for years and stick up when 3 for 2

PrincessHoneysuckle · 08/12/2019 17:37

Benefit they're pizza

PrincessHoneysuckle · 08/12/2019 17:39

Haha they're real

keepingbees · 08/12/2019 18:13

Barry M mascaras are good and only around £5. Everything but these smudge on me recently for some reason

Lucylouxc · 08/12/2019 18:14

No. 7 dramatic lift!! I get compliments every time I wear it!

hazeyjane · 08/12/2019 18:18

This one from Soap and Glory in Boots. £10.

I got a good one from soap and glory, promised not to smudge and did a good job.

WombleishMerryChristmasOfThigh · 08/12/2019 18:33

The Soap & Glory one did smudge on me. Agree with the Collection Lash Surge, though, stays really well for me, even with my oily eyelids, although I find it a bit clumpy, but as a PP said, give the wand a little wipe on a tissue and it's great.

VioletCharlotte · 08/12/2019 18:43

After reading the Primark make up on here, I bought the gold tubed mascara. It's really good and the bargain price of just £3!

Sinittasdancers · 08/12/2019 19:33

Is the collection one washable/tubing?

It's not tubing, so creates much more volume and length but my God is it waterproof. You really can't shift it unless you really want to. This is absolutely fine by me as I normally have terribly smudged panda eyes even with waterproof mascara. I take it off by soaking two cotton wool pads with micellar water and holding against my closed eyelids for 60 seconds before wiping away (like the mascara I got this tip from the guardian). I follow up with hot cloth cleansing.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 08/12/2019 19:53

I can't use micellair water or any makeup remover on my eyes so it has to come off with water, shame as it sounds amazing!

Firsttimemama2017 · 08/12/2019 19:57

The primark one in the pink tube is amazing! Can't believe how good it is for about £3!

poorstudent1010 · 08/12/2019 23:49

Does Benefit roller lash count? If not, they do travel sizes which are cheaper, and I personally think are just as good as a full size - it’s the same wand, and no one really uses up mascara before it dries out, do they?

£9.35 at JL

I keep the mini in my handbag and full size at home, no real difference, I even prefer the mini one as the shorter handle makes it easier to apply.

Schwibble · 08/12/2019 23:55

Essence Rock n Doll, or really any of their mascaras, all under £5 in Wilko or online. Better than the more expensive brands.

BusterGonad · 09/12/2019 06:11

I agree Poor Student I love a mascara mini, Benefit Roller lash is my favourite, Max Factor ones are always good too. I think I had one called lash crown or something which I highly rated. At the moment I'm using a Catrice one but it's got a huge brush and I hate huge brushes.

RebeccaCloud9 · 09/12/2019 10:55

The aldi Lacura dupe of they're real is soooooo bloody good. I've just given up on my benefit they're real tube in favour of it. Makes lashes so long and does not budge at all.

Hepsibar · 09/12/2019 11:11

One that has not been tested on animals or sub contracted out to be tested on animals.

Anyone seen those poor rabbits with their eyes being tested?

Can you recommend any?

WombleishMerryChristmasOfThigh · 09/12/2019 14:52

The Collection one already mentioned several times is cruelty free.

yips · 09/12/2019 15:15

Maybelline Great Lash. Think it's about £4? And amazing.

Schwibble · 09/12/2019 20:08

Essence is cruelty free.

Summerfalls · 09/12/2019 20:12

L’Oréal telescopic gives amazing length, quite wet at first so it can be abit messy applying but dries out quick. L’Oréal miss baby doll mega volume is also good. I tend to use both the baby doll first then the telescopic over the top.

louisethedisease · 09/12/2019 20:21

L'Oréal million lashes- gold and purple one
