I'm short and fat. What will I wear with pleather leggings?

I am 5ft 2 and short waisted. Big boobs and a lot of belly - spare tire above and below a distinct belly button waist. I love the look of leather leggings but I've no idea what to wear with them. Anything short shows off too much of my belly and arse. Anything long hangs from my boobs like a tent. Half tuck looks like I just forgot to tuck. Tuck and floof out hangs off my boobs and belly. God, just spelling this out makes me realise I need to give up on this one, don't I?

I think any sort of leggings should be worn with a longer top.
Not sure what to with big boobs though as I don’t have any ?!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 05/12/2019 21:37

I agree, longer is definitely a better look but I just end up swamped by it. And belted makes me look like a sausage.

I've bought this to wear with pleather leggings it's a good length but I need to find a suitable necklace to go with it to break up the boob shelf area

I like the color of that. I think I would be too long though. I'll see if I can find one in-store locally for a look. Thanks

High necks are not your friend. I wear lower necked tops, either scoop or V necked. Not cleavage-showing, but just low enough to mean there’s a smaller “ boob shelf area.”

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 05/12/2019 21:59

I know @Happiness25 but it's very difficult to find the middle ground between the matronly boob shelf & flashing my wares Grin

cherrytreeblossom · 05/12/2019 22:07

Where is the top from ? It's lovely

Puppylucky · 05/12/2019 22:10

Tesco

WwfLeopard · 05/12/2019 22:11

A decent length peplum top with a higher waist

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 05/12/2019 22:12

Not for me, Happiness, that sort of neck is usually much better on me than a v-neck and ice never met a scoop neck that wasn't all shades of awful on me.

Something like this, but with the top button undone? It’s short enough to be a tunic.

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 06/12/2019 07:14

@cherrytreeblossom the top I posted is from new look currently £14.99 in the sale

Long line satin shirt? M and S have a few different styles.

I'm not sure pleather leggings are ideal for you, tbh. They're more suited to a straight up and down figure than an hour glass. Anything long enough for you to feel comfortable in will shorten you. Anything loose will hang off your boobs and hide your lovely waist.

BikeRunSki · 06/12/2019 08:27

A confident smile

EgremontRusset · 06/12/2019 08:29

Long top, but tailored not drapey, like maybe a cotton shirt.

museumum · 06/12/2019 08:32

Wear a shirt with proper collar and buttons. It’ll still hang off your boobs but it won’t look like a tent cause of all the detailing and clear shirt shape.

Swisskit · 06/12/2019 08:44

I'm much like you OP and I usually go for a long top with a belt, done up loosely so that it sort of hangs down on one side. That way you can be a bit "pulled-in" without having the tent look.

Failing that, something longer and fitted is flattering, but hard to find IME. If you're a waistcoat person, you could wear a long shirt with a waistcoat over the top, which again will give you a bit more shape.

MurrayTheMonk · 06/12/2019 10:08

I wore mine last night with a fine knit long jumper from SilkFred-they have loads on there-helpfully often shown with pleathery leggings so you can visualise

Verite1 · 06/12/2019 10:29

How about silk shirt? I often wear them with leather leggings. They skim and drape so won’t hang off boobs.

Kaz2200 · 06/12/2019 12:23

What size are you I prefer coated jeans that I can wear with a belt and then a blouse half tucked.

lindyloo57 · 06/12/2019 17:04

I was going to say as above, pleather Jean's could be better as you wouldn't need such a long top, or you could try a small cross body bag over a baggie top to pull it in a bit.

Legomadx2 · 06/12/2019 17:09

are you sure pleather leggings are for you in the first place? I am medium sized and wouldn't even dare try them!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 07/12/2019 12:32

Yeah, I think my gut reaction was right and I'll give them a miss. I don't feel comfortable enough to not give a shit what other people think. I tried coated jeans before and tbh, jeans in general aren't great on me. Ah well.

I wear mine with either a satin shirt from Next - blue and white spotty one or for Christmas a dark green satin shirt from Boden. The Boden one was initially more expensive, but with £10 voucher and a 20% they worked out the same price!

I find something more fitted “slims” my silhouette, I just feel less bulky
