Or..how would YOU wear it in a funky way?

At the moment I've got as far as fishnet tights, but that's it.

The metallic boots are the best from marks and Spencer’s. The banana ones from Next are bad.

You could add a gold chunky cuff or some gold earrings to pull it all together.

AnyFucker · 04/12/2019 18:37

I love the dress. How much is it ?

Ladybirdbookworm · 04/12/2019 18:43

Love it .....have a look at the black mountain boots from red or dead in Schuh. They would go perfect.

commanderdalgliesh · 04/12/2019 19:31

It's funny how people have such different tastes. I think it's gorgeous.

Ellapaella · 05/12/2019 08:37

It all depends on what occasion you are wearing the dress for as to what shoes would look best.
Is it for dressing up or dressing down for casual wear?

RubbishRubbishRubbish · 05/12/2019 14:41

It's a dressed up occasion, but I can't do glamorous, so I try to be a bit different. Probably stupid.

Isn’t it funked up enough already?

SleepyReindeer · 05/12/2019 16:15

If it's a dressed up occasion then I think the silver glitter boots you linked would look absolutely brilliant.

astral I think the OP just doesn't want to do a traditional wedding guest "court shoes and wrap" type look with it. (I assume) she wants to wear something appropriate for a dressed up occasion (and the dress is definitely lovely for that and many other occasions) but wants to tweak it so it feels more comfortably her style.

RubbishRubbishRubbish · 05/12/2019 18:31

Yes Sleepy Reindeer. Thank you. I can't do normal glamour for various reasons.

I think a bright red flower in your hair would be lovely with this. I don't know why.

RubbishRubbishRubbish · 14/12/2019 21:26

I shall be wearing with Biker jacket and black sparkly converse (not hi tops).

Tried on in front of an audience who said it was lovely and was very me (they were given lots of options to choose from, eg: boots etc).

It will be what it will be 😊

Another one saying biker jacket.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/12/2019 09:43

I like the dress, but absolutely NO to:
fishnets
those bloody awful Next bronze boots
the M&S boots

Where are you wanting to wear it to?

I'd go biker jacket, 30D black tights (opaques would look almost as bad as fishnets imho) and heeled black ankle boots, or trainers (if trainers, I'd go for black sheer tights).

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/12/2019 09:43

Yes - I think sparkly black Converse low tops could work with it.

BusterGonad · 15/12/2019 13:18

That dress is gorgeous when you actually see it on the monsoon website.

winterisstillcoming · 15/12/2019 13:20

Came on to say biker and trainers.

RubbishRubbishRubbish · 15/12/2019 14:31

I'm wearing it to a Christmas do. Everyone else will be tres glam, but I can't do glam at all.

TheDevilsPedicure · 15/12/2019 22:06

I love the dress OP enjoy wearing it!

And FWIW I would much rather wear it like Helena Bonham Carter rather than Carrie Bradshaw.

But then Bellatrix Lestrange is probably my style icon so...... 😂
