Or..how would YOU wear it in a funky way?

At the moment I've got as far as fishnet tights, but that's it.

Your links are strange

RubbishRubbishRubbish · 03/12/2019 22:17

I've no idea what's going on with the links, sorry.

New rock boots

Ofthread · 03/12/2019 22:49

Balenciaga trainers

Anchoredowninanchorage · 03/12/2019 22:56

Fishnets nope, bright coloured tights with platform heels or Self tan with chunky trainers
Leopard / diamanté trim headband
More Carrie Bradshaw than Helena bonham Carter

dudsville · 04/12/2019 07:22

It's a beautiful dress! I think it would be hard though not to stray too far goth or Victorian. Tiny lemon or orange handbag? Minimalist shoes? I agree not fishnets, the dress had a lot going on already. I like the rise gold or yellow gold earring suggestion advice. Thus dress would also look great with a fascinator or head gear of some sort, which would be perfect for a 20's themed Nye party!

MoltonSilver · 04/12/2019 07:58

Is it this long on you? I assumed from the first photo that it was shorter. It makes a difference to what shoes you would wear.

Velvet sandals with a block heel would be great. Fake tan I think and bare legs. Wear thermal cycling shorts (I just chop off tights just at the knee). Leather biker jacket. Chunky padded hair band would give it some edge too.

Miniloso · 04/12/2019 08:05

Gold belt and gold earrings

Besidesthepoint · 04/12/2019 08:14

Reminds me of an aunts dress in the 70s. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

NiteFlights · 04/12/2019 10:03

More Carrie Bradshaw than Helena bonham Carter yes! Keep this in mind. Definitely not fishnets!!! Agree with high, platform velvet sandals, in a ‘jewel’ colour. If you have good legs, bare legs; if you don’t (like me), black opaques. A biker jacket would be good if you have one. Otherwise I don’t think it needs much.

RubbishRubbishRubbish · 04/12/2019 11:26

Do we think any of these boots will do?

Yes, it is that long on me.

I haven't much advice. I would be on here asking too as am not great at making decisions. Just wanted to say that's a lovely dress. I think it has a lot going on with the trim and hemline, so would keep accessories simple.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 04/12/2019 12:20

I would probably work a Victorian vibe with that and wear those lace up granny boots that are everywhere this year with some dark wine coloured lipstick.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 04/12/2019 12:26

Maybe these if you want it match/tonal...

SleepyReindeer · 04/12/2019 12:26

NOT the banana heel bronze boots! Forget you ever saw those Grin

The silver ones are best, with a biker jacket that has silver hardware to link up the metal colours. The cream western would be OK but a bit of a clash and green and cream/off white are a bit meh together. They probably aren't either dressy or funky enough in the cream colour for that dress. The right pair of westerns would look good though for a more day to evening look. The silver is evening or "occasion day out" rather than day to evening IYSWIM.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 04/12/2019 12:28

I would also wear it with a retro velvet blazer -1990's style

newdeer · 04/12/2019 12:31

I'd wear it with a bike jacket and lace up Victorian-style boots. I like it.

RubbishRubbishRubbish · 04/12/2019 13:00

The Western boots are in the silver option, that make a difference?

Thanks everyone, all suggestions (bar sticking the dress in the bin) welcome.

SleepyReindeer · 04/12/2019 13:13

Rubbish Cream came up in the link, there's gold option (says metallic but looks gold on my screen) too but can't see a silver (in the westerns).

The gold shade itself is nice but the light wooden heel and rim around the boot is too casual/clompy looking for that dress. IMHO.

SleepyReindeer · 04/12/2019 13:14

What occasion are you planning on wearing it to Rubbish?
