Is this dress TOO much like a disco ball!?

I've got my works Xmas do this Saturday, I've bought this dress but am now wondering it's a bit OTT with the amount of sequins? I was thinking of teaming with black ankle boots and black leather jacket? What do people think?

Hmm I've seen that one and tbh I'm not very keen on it

Have you time to get something else? And return that one?

Bodear · 02/12/2019 18:50

Love it. Not disco ball at all.

milkysmum · 02/12/2019 18:58

My other option was this but I feel it will be less forgiving after a 3 course meal! They are very different looks I know!

You'll wear the second one more than once, you won't wear the sequinned one again after your do. On which basis, I'd go for the green. I do like them both though.

incognitomum · 02/12/2019 19:11

I like both

Kochicoo · 02/12/2019 19:15

I like the first one.

Annasgirl · 02/12/2019 19:17

The first one - I love it. You can wear it to every other Christmas event you have this year and next.

Ohyesiam · 02/12/2019 19:20

I don’t generally like sequins things, but that dress is lovely. The leather jacket will bring it an edgy edgeXmas Smile.

Heymummee · 02/12/2019 19:24

I like the first one! It’s really festive and looks more comfortable than the second.

Northernmum100 · 02/12/2019 19:29

The first one, for some reason i think you could have more fun and really enjoy the night in that one more. Yes to your planned ankle boots and leather jacket too.

JaneJeffer · 02/12/2019 19:30

I love it. The second one looks very unforgiving.

JellyfishAndShells · 02/12/2019 19:31

I love the first one - not like every other party dress out there and will look great the way you are planning to accessorise it.

Atalune · 02/12/2019 19:33

The second one I wouldn’t wear to a works event.

The first one feels disjointed with the sheer top part. I don’t love it. But of the 2 it’s my preference.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 02/12/2019 19:33

Not keen. It's shapeless.

I like the second one, although the model pic looks airbrushed beyond belief. Looks like she's been stretched!

Iamthewombat · 02/12/2019 19:35

The green one wipes the floor with the sequinned one. That just hangs like a sack, AND it looks like dresses French Connection were doing ten years ago.

You can add a bit of glitter via jewellery. Down with the sequinned frock!

MrsMaiselsMuff · 02/12/2019 19:35

Two very different dresses though. The first is something I'd have gone for when I was much bigger, it's something you wear when you want to hide something, and the second is definitely for a slim person.

SteelRiver · 02/12/2019 19:36

I love the first one and I reckon it'll look great teamed with a leather jacket. I say go for it!

WifOfBif · 02/12/2019 19:37

The first one!

Greenglassteacup · 02/12/2019 19:38

It looks like a disco ball that rolled over a tiger

milkysmum · 02/12/2019 19:45

Ooh real mixed responses! It is much less tiger coloured in real life and much more 'multi' if you know what I mean.
I'm 5ft 7, size 8/10 but tend to get a lot of bloating when I eat any carbs of which the Xmas meal will be full of! It's a function at the local football club, then probably drinks in town for those staying out late. My general style is a bit alternative/ docs/ denim jacket type of thing.
The green one looks pretty good but feels a bit tight round the neck and more wedding esk really.

bengalcat · 02/12/2019 19:48

As an 8/10 you’ll look good in either . Personally I prefer the femme fatale green one .

drumandthebass · 02/12/2019 19:49

I like the first one

pooiepooie25 · 02/12/2019 19:51

The green one is amazing! The first one- not so much. At your height and size, the green one will be fab.

JaneJeffer · 02/12/2019 19:52

I get the feeling you won't feel like yourself in the green one.

ChinUpChestOut · 02/12/2019 20:01

I love the first one - perfect for Xmas! But do get a size that fits you well enough just to skim your figure without it being baggy (but still leaves room for Xmas carbs)........
