Is this dress TOO much like a disco ball!?

I've got my works Xmas do this Saturday, I've bought this dress but am now wondering it's a bit OTT with the amount of sequins? I was thinking of teaming with black ankle boots and black leather jacket? What do people think?

I got both in an 8. The first one is still quite loose but if I got a size smaller it would be too short I'm sure.
The 8 in the green is tight, as is the style of dress, but I have a tiny busy so any bigger would bag on the top. I have next day delivery on next directory so any alternatives from there welcome!

A dress that’s TOO sparkly you say? 🤔 That’s a strange concept and one that there is no room for in my undertheradar world.

Seriously, it’s a beautiful dress that will last more than one season and will look great styled in the way you suggest.

I am happy to come round with my Swarovski crystals and my hot glue gun if you decide it needs any additional embellishments.

@milkysmum do you have time to go to a dressmaker and get 1st one altered?

CoolCarrie · 02/12/2019 21:41

I love the sequin one, it looks great and would be very cool with leather jacket.

afterme · 02/12/2019 21:46

I say number 1.

GalactiCat · 02/12/2019 21:48

Number 1 . Its the same one I'm wearing for my Christmas work party 🙂

milkysmum · 02/12/2019 21:51

Oh is it Galacticat? What shoes etc. Are you wearing with it?

No I dint have time to get it altered. I think the fit is ok really, loose but that's the style of those dresses isn't it?

Where is #1 from? I love it!

Bluerussian · 02/12/2019 22:53

I like the first one best.

incognitomum · 02/12/2019 22:57

Yes as long as you feel comfortable. Have you decided?

milkysmum · 02/12/2019 23:01

33- I ordered it from Next directory.

The first one is great - especially with leather jacket and boots. Fun, edgy and comfy after carb intake. Love it
The green one whilst lovely looks more wedding attire/formal to me (but I live in a fashion wasteland where putting on a tshirt with sleeves or enclosed shoes is considered fancy so my opinion is questionable 😂)

milkysmum · 03/12/2019 07:25

Haha whatthefronti- I live in a similar fashion wasteland to be honest which is why I'd rather at least stay in my own comfort zone I think!
Is there a particular style of boots does anyone I think, I have a suede pair of heeled ankle boots that I was thinking of wearing, although they are a bit faded/ water marked so if either need to refresh them somehow or grab another pair this week.

First one! I hate asymmetric hemlines although the colour is beautiful.

Have a great time. Xmas Smile

GalactiCat · 03/12/2019 07:53

milkysmum I'm not sure yet. I'm thinking quite dark tights and maybe some black ankle boots.

milkysmum · 03/12/2019 17:42

Thank you everyone. I'm thinking I will go and rock the glitter ball look Smile
