I know that the real solution is to buy longer tights, but with existing tights or if you are at the top of the range length, if you get one of those freezer bag clips you can make the waistband tighter, or even attach your tights with it to your top.

My dd(6) puts a pair of pants on over the top She’s that in between size where I’ve had to size up to get the leg length but that means the waist is too big. She was so proud of herself for working out a way to keep them up Thankfully this is only in home tights, not school ones.

Wearing a tight skirt so you can catch them in the waistband is the other option but pants over them is best IMO.

When I wear tights I usually wear a top/vest underneath my outside top that I tuck in so I have attached it to that. The other top/dress means it can’t be seen. They are smooth so lie flat against the skin. I’m at the top of the height range so I can’t size up.
These are the ones I mean, but no bigger than 5cm.
Obviously won’t suit everyone, but for me a lot less annoying than falling down tights or knickers over the top.

Quite the oposite to the knickers over the top brigade. Heist tights or Autograph seam free; they have a proper cotton gusset, so they are comfy without any knix at all. That way they cling to your body in all the right places and stop put. That also gives you a better line.

Can't imagine a clip being more comfortable than knickers on top??

If your legs are too long for tights that fit, the bodysuit is likely to be a problem too.

Yet another vote for snag tights. After 30 years of wearing trousers because I couldn’t stand tights, my Snag ones are FAB.

There is another way. I’m on record elsewhere on MN in saying that I still buy and wear, fairly regularly “proper” stockings from John Lewis. I often wear them to work.

I was a little relectant to mention earlier because of the sleaze type reputation they have gained due to some cheap and nasty stuff out there. But with a good quality suspender belt such as Fantasie, it can be a practical, comfortable option for going to work rather than the bedroom. I’m not into dressing up games.

Just buy a bigger size. Baffled by the waist being too big aren't tights stretchy? I'm tall sand slim and just wear a large. Dd who is tiny can wear ladies small. Maybe you are wearing particularly rubbish makes and need to try some different types?

Just as balance, I found Snag tights not that great - a bit shiny, and really easy to catch. (I was also sent completely the wrong order, although in fairness they did sort that out quickly.) I wouldn't order from them again.
