Is this dress too much?

I'm going to a 40th birthday next weekend and don't really want to buy anything new. I bought this dress for an Xmas night a couple
of years ago. Is it too much for a birthday party, especially of someone I don't really know? Party is in a really nice hotel.

Thanks!

Lovely dress and a great colour ❤️

newshoooooes · 22/11/2019 23:12

It's not quite as dark as it looks. This is it. Although that then looks slightly brighter!

It's a lovely dress and you wear it well. But...heels together/toes out if anything. Toes together/heels out makes you look insecure. Small point but makes a difference. Stand tall and know how fabulous you look: attitude and posture can make an outfit and you're already 90% there with a lovely dress and good figure.

Enjoy the party!

shivermetimbers77 · 22/11/2019 23:27

It's a classic, elegant dress. Beautiful, and not 'too much' at all. Enjoy!

wafflyversatile · 22/11/2019 23:29

It's a fab dress and perfect for a 40th in a posh hotel.

SpeckledyHen · 22/11/2019 23:30

Lovely !

Deadringer · 22/11/2019 23:40

Perfect

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 22/11/2019 23:44

Lovely dress and gorgeous figure Smile

AgeLikeWine · 22/11/2019 23:54

I’m afraid we have a rather boring consensus. It’s a very nice dress, and you have a fantastic figure, OP.

Enjoy the party, you will look great! Smile

emilybrontescorsett · 22/11/2019 23:59

Definately wear it.

DonKeyshot · 23/11/2019 01:54

Even if the celebrant is someone you don't really know, your dress is perfect for a birthday party in a nice hotel.

1forAll74 · 23/11/2019 02:51

Yes.perfect for you, lovely, and classy.

StarlightLady · 23/11/2019 06:13

Just right for such an occasion. It looks better on you than it does on the model. Maybe team with some bold beads?

I’m sure you don’t need “Industrial strength pants” either. Just go for best knickers!

newshoooooes · 23/11/2019 10:00

Thank you all! So kind, and made me feel so much better.

@Ladybirdman I will try and remember that Smile

All gorgeous.

MabelChiltern1 · 23/11/2019 10:06

Lovely dress and it suits you. I love it when people look great in their clothes. Smile

Corrag · 23/11/2019 10:38

I think it looks better on you than it does on the model.

Deadringer · 23/11/2019 19:37

You know I thought it looked better on the op than the model too but I didn't say as I didn't want to sound too gushing, but it really does, it's fab op.

JenniferM1989 · 23/11/2019 19:43

You suit it better than the model. It looks great 🙂

newshoooooes · 29/11/2019 16:03

Hi all, having second thoughts a out my dress and wondered if should wear this one instead??

I like the second one more, where is it from?

Love the sleeves

Ninkanink · 29/11/2019 16:22

I love green so I liked the first dress, but I think the second one is even better! Looks very classy and elegant.

Ninkanink · 29/11/2019 16:23

And I think it’s also green? And possibly velvet? 🥰

newshoooooes · 29/11/2019 16:25

Thanks. It's from Pretty Kitty, and yes, it's green and velvety

Thelaughinggnome123 · 29/11/2019 16:28

I prefer the second, it's gorgeous. You look nice in both but the second edges it.
