AIBU to ask if anyone still uses Avon products? Are they any good/worth the money?

I do. There is a rep around here, but I find her irritating so just get my mum to add stuff to her orders back home.

I find their matte lipstick is fantastic and I rate their eyeshadow palettes and foundation.

MadisonAvenue · 11/11/2019 20:47

I love their eyeliners, the Glimmerstick ones.

I used to have a regular Avon lady but she dropped our estate from her round as she only had a few customers. My Mom has one who calls at the moment so I'm ordering from her, I've actually had a window open on the Avon site for a few days though for emailing a rep local to me. Must do that.

bornonasunday · 11/11/2019 21:52

I am just about at the end of my Avon make up and was wondering if it worth chasing up. I have had their blushers and eye shadows before but often find the colours in the brochure differ from the real colours you receive. Have had Avon for many years, and was briefly a rep in 1984😀

Isn't it tested on animals? Angry

bornonasunday · 11/11/2019 22:16

I’ve no idea, tbh, very out of touch with the whole Avon set-up, hence my original post. I’d be surprised, I would hope they’ve caught up with cosmetic ethics?

Why would anyone buy Avon when you can buy better quality for less money from a shop where you can actually see the products?
Avon is such an outdated business model these days, not to mention it's an MLM so really shouldn't be encouraged.

JanewaysBun · 11/11/2019 22:28

I use the glimmersticks which are good. Also isn't the moisturiser supposed to ward off mosquitos?

StCharlotte · 11/11/2019 22:43

The glimmersticks are great although of course they've discontinued the one I've just run out of 🙄

Girlintheframe · 12/11/2019 06:08

I love their nude lipsticks. I find it very hard to find a nude that doesn't make me look washed out (sallow skin and dark hair). Its the only thing I buy from Avon

1Supersonic · 12/11/2019 12:34

Unfortunately I am not a fan of Avon. There shower gel dry my skin too much.

I had a nasty rash on my face after using their moisturiser

Deathraystare · 12/11/2019 17:36

Yes I buy their Glimmersticks eye liner pencils. I am using their Anew Platinum range skin care (now I am nearly at a 'big number' birthday) . Not sure what I think yet.

I also really love the skin so soft dry oil spray in original' Love the smell!

I have the soft musk fragrance but most of their perfumes are very watery and sweet. In the 70's/80's they had some fantastic ones. Such a shame!

Their lipsticks don't last on me (most others do).

Furryfatface · 12/11/2019 18:21

Their foundation compact is my favourite I use tons in medium beige.I loke ot better than Estee Launder. Gilmmer stick. Eyebrow sticks. Matt lipsticks. Far away perfume.

Mauroz1966 · 12/11/2019 18:59

Their true colour foundation in liquid and compact is brilliant. The mascaras are rubbish. Their true colour lipsticks are very good. The body lotions and cheap face creams aren't very good, very diluted I find. Most things you can but better and just as cheap in superdrug.

Mauroz1966 · 12/11/2019 19:05

Their true colour foundation compact (cream to powder) is so good I wore it in my wedding day. I also found it better than the £35 Estée Lauder!

Avon sells in China, we have mandatory animal testing, although the products sold elsewhere in the world aren't. Depends on how strict you are.

WombleishOfTheThighs · 12/11/2019 19:28

'Who have' ffs 🙄

I am an Avon representative and yes many people do buy our products. They have great products! My customers seems to enjoy using them and are happy to purchase it. You can always try, 28 days money back if your not happy.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 12/11/2019 22:40

It reminds me of my Nan & her friends in the 80s, I’ve ever tried it, I always thought it was tested on animals

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 12/11/2019 22:41

But it’s definitely still going, league of friends ladies at work are always trying to give us brochures

Marcipex · 12/11/2019 22:44

Do they or don’t they test on animals?
I would really like to know.

Avit41 · 12/11/2019 22:48

In answer to peoples questions as to wether Avon products are tested on animals, the answer is a definate no!
