Flat / low heel comfy (padded?) party shoes

MorelloKisses · 09/11/2019 16:53

I think every year we need a thread rounding up the best party flats/low heels.

I’m in the market for some this year, so hit me with your recommendations. So far I’ve found these. Any thoughts?
Bronze and strappy
Shoe Boots and black
These in black or bronze
These in bronze
And these

Looks like bronze is in!

I quite like the square-toed ones and the Boden ones that DarlingCoffee posted. but I'm coming from my own bias which is I can't even wear kitten heels anymore since I broke my back

wonders shoes are super comfortable and some of these would be nice for a party.

NancyEspana · 10/11/2019 20:46

I love the Boden ones too! I nearly posted them on here today and then thought they looked a bit familiar...Halloween Smile. I think they're great and a bit 'alternative' / vintagey.

What sort of heels do you especially miss op? That might help us find a similar style, but flat.

I happen to find DM boots a lot prettier than a pair of high heeled Louboutins, but I think I'm a bit odd Halloween Grin.

I was thinking of something to wear with a cocktail dress like this.

Flats or low heels all ok, if pretty enough and comfy enough.

Love that dress.

NancyEspana · 10/11/2019 21:23

Lovely dress! I'd probably go with silver, grey or black flats or low block heels with that.

Exp1etiveDeLighted · 10/11/2019 21:38

I have long since stopped seeing heels as pretty or attractive, so I'm probably coming at it from a different angle to you TBH, I would be looking at something like these

www.schuh.co.uk/womens/schuh-glitterati-silver-trainers/1339827660/ and a dress that goes with them, but the one you've linked to wouldn't.

What about these?

These are bonkers, but would definitely be a talking point! www.hobbs.com/product/charlotte-flat/0118-FL03-015H010-TORT.html#cgid=sale-shoes-and-boots&sz=60&start=0&pid=0118-FL03-015H010-TORT&pos=47

MorelloKisses · 10/11/2019 21:41

I like the gold ones ( but have always found sling backs tricky little fuckers... why?...?)

Don’t like the wedges.

Fucking feet!

Butterfly twists are super comfy flat shoes which I always get commented on. I have like 6 pairs now.

This is a Spanish shop but these are ridiculously comfy and padded with gel insoles and very flexible.

I just came on to recommend butterfly twists too- I just got a pair of really sparkly ones and they are always super comfy!

MorelloKisses · 10/11/2019 21:45

These are bonkers, but would definitely be a talking point!
Are they bonkers? They seem a bit dull to me.

I think the fit flop ballets are bonkers!

90% of my social life I spend in metallic trainers, patent brogues, loafers etc. But this frock/event is calling for something else.

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/11/2019 21:46

Bonkers as in I can't imagine anybody ever wearing them!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/11/2019 21:47

The Fitflops are hideous, and definitely not party shoes!

MorelloKisses · 10/11/2019 21:48

The Fitflops are hideous, and definitely not party shoes!

Indeed

I am starting to think flat/nearly flat party shoes are a myth

NancyEspana · 10/11/2019 21:50

Can you post a picture of your dream shoes? Even if they're massive heels you couldn't wear? That would maybe help us find something more your style?

Campervan69 · 10/11/2019 22:15

Actually finding this thread hilarious. All the shoes posted have been hideous. For a party the only pretty shoes you can possibly wear are heels. I defy anybody to find any vaguely attractive flats to go with a party dress.

cad186 · 10/11/2019 22:44

I don't usually like kitten heels but these ones aren't too bad...

BeatriceTheBeast · 11/11/2019 07:41

Nah, campervan, I love flats! I personally think heels are less attractive. Certainly less attractive on someone like the op, who says she recently found out she is not supposed to wear them Halloween Smile. Also less attractive on me who cannot walk in the fuckers Halloween Grin.

There was a time (still?) when flat shoes were banned at the Cannes Film Festival and that was roundly and rightly criticised.

www.google.com/amp/s/www.stylist.co.uk/fashion/cannes-2019-high-heels-flat-shoes-ban-dress-code-feminism/268282/amp

Also, didn't you just post some very sensible flat shoes up thread which you say you've bought and want to buy another pair of? Did you do that as a mean joke so you could laugh at the op, since you say you actually find this thread hilarious etc? That's not in the spirit is it really?

Campervan69 · 11/11/2019 07:55

No I only ever wear flats. I grew up in Doc Martens, now live in Ugg and other biker boots, Birkenstocks, ballerinas like the Uggs and trainers. My feet have thanked me for it all my life. But can't call any of those "pretty" as such.

But if people think the fitflop ones I posted are hideous as many have said (I think they look neat and smart) then all flats are hideous to them as everything posted on this thread has looked similar.

BeatriceTheBeast · 11/11/2019 07:56

I personally think all the pictures of women wearing flats on the red carpet look a lot...cooler. If that's the right word. Some people look awesome in heels, but many people look silly ad uncomfortable as they can't walk properly in them.
