If you are in your 40’s what foundation do you use?

I’m mid 40’s and have used Estee Lauder tinted moisturiser for years which I really like but I find by early afternoon all my make up has disappeared and then I look tired and a bit sallow.

Thinking maybe I need something a bit more but I don’t like the feel of heavy foundation on my skin.

Please could you share your foundations if you are of similar age or other product you may use to look less tired. Maybe blusher? My skin colour is quite sallow/olivey with dark circles and I tan easily in summer.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I like plastic-free foundations from Lovetheplanet. It's a foundation powder but it lasts ages and it's very affordable. Plus vegan and good for the planet and skin. earthbits.com/collections/love-the-planet

I'm 49 and use EL double wear, I've tried all sorts and always go back to this, amazing coverage and is the only one that sorts out my oily skin

No & Hydraluminous is amazing
None of my luxury foundations compare

guinot hydra finish - my beautician give me a sample after she raved about it and I bought a tube and use it daily now.

I use Chanel Les Beiges. Depending on whether I use a sponge or my fingers to apply, I can get a light or full coverage without it looking cakey or wearing off. I don't wear make up every day, though, so I don't mind the outlay because it lasts a long time.

I'm 49 and recently discovered Clarins Everlasting Youth Fluid. I've never been a fan or regular user of foundation until now. This fluid is light but gives beautiful coverage without feeling heavy or looking obvious. It doesn't sink into the lines under my eyes and, crucially for me, lasts all day looking good. I have a greasy t-zone but I don't need to use any powder, either.

I never thought I'd find a foundation to suit my skin so I'm still a bit taken aback. There was a sample sachet in a couple of my monthly glossy magazines and I'm glad I gave it a try. Might be worth a try at your local Clarins counter.

I've recently gone back to EL DW after using tinted moisturiser for years. It does t disappear , and lasts all day. I used to find it quite drying but now don't for some reason. I have improved my skin care and diet though so maybe that is it

Estee Lauder doublewear nude, it is really light, like a tinted moisturiser, but lasts all day. I dont like the original double wear as I find it too heavy.

I'm late 40s with olive skin and wear Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. Not the oil free version. Really like it.

don't like the heavier foundations.

I'm intriged by the L'Oréal true match! I might try it!

BusterGonad · 12/11/2019 07:27

I've just purchased the L'Oréal true match liquid foundation and its rather nice, it has a slight shimmer to it but not in a ridiculous way, its soft and comfortable and doesn't cake up. So far so good.

In my 50’s - use Garnier BB cream and also Charlotte Tilbury . Have normal skin .
