Dress is too tight and the material looks cheap.

plumpieandcustard · 07/11/2019 17:04

You have an amazing figure and definitely do not need any special underwear lol 😂 funniest thing I've heard all day.

Runningonempty84 · 07/11/2019 17:07

Well, I like it. And of course you don't need fucking Spanx, you probably weigh about 7st wet through Hmm
You have a great figure and that's a lovely, simple, flattering dress. I'd wear it to work. And yes, with those boots too.

MarshaBradyo · 07/11/2019 17:09

It’s a bit too long

Ffsnosexallowed · 07/11/2019 17:10

Of course you don't need spanx!! Do they even do them that small???? You look fab.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 07/11/2019 17:17

Have I got really bad deja vin or have you posted the exact same thread before?

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 07/11/2019 17:20

I'm not being snarky OP but I'm sure I've seen those photos before, and deja vu is a seizure warning for me so I'm actually really hoping you have posted it before!

policeandthieves · 07/11/2019 17:20

The dress is absolutely fine it's the tights /boots that let it down. You need bare legs (or tights you don't see ) and clumpy boots as per the all saints pictures ( could also have a heel ) or trainers.
Statement jewellery or boxy jacket/jumper over could also work
A scarf would make it frumpy
Your figure is fab definitely no need for spanx

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 07/11/2019 17:21

PS you don't need fucking Spanx!!!

HyperemesisandPND · 07/11/2019 17:23

@WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles here is my other thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/3732411-This-dress-with-these-boots?pg=5&order=
It was asking for advice on boots before I bought some. This one is asking for advice with the boots I bought. I have posted on there again too but wasnt sure who would see it as it's been a good few days since the last post hence starting this one.

Can we swap bodies please OP?

You look lovely.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 07/11/2019 17:26

Oh good, as I said I wasn't being snarky but the feeling of "I've know I've seen that before" is really worrying for me so thanks for answering Smile

HyperemesisandPND · 07/11/2019 17:28

Thank you so much for all the comments. I'm taking on board everyone's advice and opinions. It's all very helpful.
Thank you bluewavescrashing. Perhaps body swaps will be perfected one day with the rate technology is advancing.

Spanx are for smoothing the line, not for slimming.

userabcname · 07/11/2019 17:38

I really like it. The only thing I'd change is the tights - I think nude would be better or bare legs.

StarlightLady · 07/11/2019 17:38

It’s nice. I would go for some bold big white beads with it. I certainly don’t think the bra is an issue. At the very most it sugests you have a bra on. People know that anyway.

FadingStar · 07/11/2019 17:44

You have a cracking figure OP. I love the colour of the dress. I agree a jacket over the top and lose the boots. Then it would be beautiful.

Sleephead1 · 07/11/2019 17:44

Your very slim and it might be the angle your standing at but it's sort of making you look like you've got a bit of a sticky out tummy ( I'm sure you dont ) I think it's either the angle or something with the skirt. I'm slim aswell but have afew skirts that give me abit of a tummy aswell and aren't as flattering as they could be.

IdblowJonSnow · 07/11/2019 17:50

Quite like it. Fine for a pub lunch.
Agree no need for spanx

cocomelon23 · 07/11/2019 17:51

I was going to say the same re your tummy. It looks a bit like a baby bump but I think it might just be the angle you're at.

theemmadilemma · 07/11/2019 17:55

I'd get rid of the tights, I think nude would be better.

And agree a big chunky gold statement necklace would look good.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/11/2019 17:58

I really think you're overthinking this!

It's fine. Nobody would bat an eyelid if you wore it out to a pub, to go shopping, to go to a restaurant, or to many other places.

The black tights aren't brilliant with it, and I still think it's two or three inches too long, but it's FINE.

And whoever suggested you needed Spanx is, frankly, bonkers.

StarlightLady · 07/11/2019 18:01

I hitcsend too soon by accident. I agree no need for Spanx or the like for goodness sake.

To add though we can’t see it from the back. Maybe team it up with Autograph 40 or 60 denier velvet tights. I certainly don’t think you want to have anything thicker. They come with a “proper” cotton gusset and perfectly comfy without knickers for a smooth line. You have a lovely figure to carry the dress but it would be a shame to spoil it with a robust knicker line round the bum.

Ellapaella · 07/11/2019 18:09

You look lovely OP and that's a lovely dress. Personally I'm not sure the boots really work with it, they look ok but a black ankle boot or white trainer would work better imo.
You have a lovely figure and can probably get away with wearing whatever you want.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/11/2019 18:09

Yes the Autograph 40 or 60 would be perfect.
