Comfy tights that don’t cut you in half!

I need opaque tights for work. Bought some in sainsburys size s-m. I’m a size 12 and the guide on the packet said this was a s-m. Went to put them on and they instantly felt too tight. Wore them at work yesterday
and so uncomfortable - couldn’t wait to get home and rip them off!! The bigger size would be too baggy.

Before I waste any more money, can anyone tell where I can buy comfy true to size tights? Do they even exist?

what on earth convinces you the next size up would be baggy? you just need to find your right fit within a brand. my expensive tastes mean i know what fits in falke :) (was 18/20, tights fit is more, well, tight, for most people, op)

Try Snag - haven't tried them personally but have heard so many good things about them

Poppysball · 30/10/2019 22:54

I’ve tried next size up and they felt too big.

Love my snag tights as do my 23 year old twins.

New Look do surprisingly excellent tights. Primark opaques at the minute are also pretty good. I always assumed I needed large.. (am an 8-10 they were fine, but my mum had always bought large so I did too). They were never baggy. I now buy medium, bought them by accident one day. I tried small once as the packaging indicated they were a better size.... Just not long enough in the leg.

Try Heist, expensive but they last for ever and a “proper” cotton gusset. Alternativly, check out (or buy and check out) the M&S Autograph seam free opaques. The lack of seam makes them so much more comfy,

newyearoldme · 31/10/2019 05:35

Snags are wonderfully comfy

Queenie24 · 31/10/2019 05:57

I'm another one for Snag tights they are fantastic

Ohhellooooo · 31/10/2019 05:58

Another one for Snag. I’ve never felt so comfortable in tights

MintyT · 31/10/2019 06:00

Snag I love mine

VincentVanGoughandhisear · 31/10/2019 06:01

My £6 snag tights laddered the first wear and my toe went through on the second wear. They are now in the bin.

sanityisamyth · 31/10/2019 06:02

Snag tights are amazing.

NightsOfCabiria · 31/10/2019 06:13

I find this with Sainsburys tights. Great fit everywhere else but the waistband cuts me in half.

I like M&S, Falke, Walford and Heist

clarec86 · 31/10/2019 06:19

Snag tights all the way!

NancyEspana · 31/10/2019 07:18

Another Snag fan here!

il0vew1ne · 31/10/2019 08:11

best tights I have had are from next the 40 denier black. They are so snug don't fall down and are very elasticated. They are £8.00 for 3 pairs
bargain

Hevmcm · 31/10/2019 15:11

I have the same problem and have found that putting a couple of vertical snips down the waistband helps! Obviously don't cut past the seam

Mrsboombastic99 · 31/10/2019 20:57

Primark tights are pretty decent and inexpensive.

Basketofkittens · 31/10/2019 21:04

M&S seamfree! The lack of a gusset means there is no rubbing on the thighs. I buy a large but I’m a size 12 5’7.

PurpleViolin · 31/10/2019 21:08

M&s I buy large am size 12/14

Milicentbystander72 · 31/10/2019 21:08

Another vote for Snag tights. Comfiest tights ever.

danadas · 31/10/2019 21:10

Snag tights here too. I am the weirdest shape and have never been able to wear tights but they are amazing.

BarbourellaTheCoatzilla · 31/10/2019 21:11

Didn’t a thread get closed down recently that was all people praising snag and mn thought it was sneaky advertising?

Pretty sure most brands have shills on here.

However in the case of snag I agree. They're the best tights I've ever owned. Bloody love them. I've got them in loads of colours.

peachgreen · 31/10/2019 23:29

I've never had a pair of Snags ladder! That said, I don't think they wash as well as M&S tights and if I could get them to fit I'd go for those. But Snags are genuinely great for anyone who is an odd size or shape..
