I was planning on taking a trip out to my nearest TK Maxx, I need some new clothes and skincare items. Are the deals actually that good? What are your best TK Maxx finds ?

The homeward items are great

Don’t bother too much with the clothing although I’ve had quite a bit of gym wear over the years. Also handbags, although they’re not as good since it became more mainstream.
Kitchenware & crockery is good.
Agree that branches seem to differ in degree of organisation and content - I’ve got 4 branches within shouting distance.

I really liked a Zadig & Voltaire ultrafine cashmere scarf a while back but was ConfusedHmm at the price of ~ 300 euros in the boutique.

By chance, I spotted the same design at tk maxx a few months later at 35 GBP. It wasn’t especially eye-catching and was in a ‘poorer town’ where the other scarves were around a tenner, so it was left on the back of the rack.

I guess it’s a matter of random luck or perseverance!

Our town had a separate HomeSense which I loved , if I wanted something household I'd always look in there .
And very often had to convince myself that I DIDN'T need a punchbowl and eight glass cups Grin

Its now moved into TKMaxx , its not the same vibe at all.

Price wise , I would always double check. But I know some of the beauty products are more expensive than elsewhere .

Oh, and when I read on S&B someone wanting a Kipling handbag the advice is always "look in TKMaxx"

I know the price of Kiplings and there are either none/they are 'baby pooh mustard' / way over priced

Love the place. Only thing I stay away from is the make-up/beauty.
Most of the palettes are smashed and broken once you open them and are old season and smell and the foundations and other skincare products often are separating, gunky and a bit 'off'.

Marc Jacobs glasses frames £21 (DS has just had lenses put in them for £20 from a local optician)
Marc Jacobs handbag £43 still selling in Selfridges at around £300ish
Orla Kiely handbag - £22
Coach handbag -£35
Chloe handbag - £23
North Face Boots - £10
Balenciaga tshirt - £13
Vivienne Westwood wool cardigan - £15

All in the last 6 months - our local TK Maxx is brilliant for random finds.

Love it, but it's very hit and miss and you do need plenty of time, even in the smaller and more limited stores. There was a Prada skirt the last time I went in, just not in a colour or shape I would wear, but it would have been a steal for someone. It's useful for things like headphones, which my DS breaks and loses all the time, and for household linens, kitchen equipment and sometimes shoes. I used to have pearl grey Cardin ankle boots that I loved until they fell apart, which were mis-labelled for size and were in final clearance at £15. Luck is everything.

Not my most favourite shop although I love home bargains which is part of TJ max I once tried a coat on and said to the staff the stitching was all wrong on it and he replied the clothes are all seconds that's why ( which I didn't know)
