Of course not! You don’t like people simply because they’re women - nor should you have to

Is that all the OP has to add?

Craving

I have the same costumey feeling at times.
Scarves are relatively new to me, and I'm just learning.
For me they will be for my work as a costume but also for normal wear too. It can be difficult getting the balance right Grin
Have a go at the turbans, they aren't so hard if you can manage arms behind your back, to tie them.

SpiderCharlotte · 29/10/2019 15:05

@AliciaQuays
But ... but the OP says they're frumpy and mumsy, does that count for absolutely nothing @heatingsoup ? Oh, hang on ...

Drabarni · 29/10/2019 15:06

Well we can talk scarves and what we like to do with them, OP sounds a bit weird, but hey ho.
I thought child on half term to begin with.

ExpletiveDEVILighted · 29/10/2019 15:31

That scarf would be fine without the bag but both together looks fussy. I think the bag is hideous. But I would describe that as an outdoor scarf, you'd take it and the jacket off when you went inside.

Mixed reviews. Smile

The image is a stock image from the internet that I used to show the scarf/style. I'm not a fan of LV bags but then I'm not a handbag person either.

Expletive Then I think most of the scarves I wear indoors are probably outdoor scarves. Blush That's the heavier end of the scarves I wear, but most ar ethat sort of style.

GeorgianaDovesHouse · 29/10/2019 15:43

Think you might be right, Op.

GeorgianaDovesHouse · 29/10/2019 15:45

Outdoor scarves look good worn indoors.

GeorgianaDovesHouse · 29/10/2019 15:47

This type for example

ExpletiveDEVILighted · 29/10/2019 15:47

Is that an LV bag? I wouldn't know, I have zero interest in designer bags but still think its hideous.

ExpletiveDEVILighted · 29/10/2019 15:49

Lola surely scarves like that get in the way all the time if worn indoors? I can't imagine working in a scarf like that, or doing anything round the house.

But this is great and it must be an indoor one.

nibdedibble · 29/10/2019 15:54

I like them
I make them myself
Double trouble

GeorgianaDovesHouse · 29/10/2019 16:01

The Hermies scarf is tricky to get right. Surely it’s acceptable indoors?

ExpletiveDEVILighted
I don't find it does if the size is right.
I tend to have the V/triangle at the front, wrapped around my neck and tied again at the front under the triangle. There's no long ends to dangle.

With medium weight scarves I don't find it an issue.

Well, that sounds fine Lola. I have a colleague who regularly wears scarves like that and it obviously isn't an issue for her either, but her bust is much smaller than mine, I think my big bust is one reason I don't get on with them.

TheHoundsofLove · 29/10/2019 16:31

Expletive I don't find they get in the way either. And it sounds like I wear mine in a similar way to Lola but I artfully drape the loose ends at the front. Grin I agree that you need to get the weight right though.

TheCanterburyWhales · 29/10/2019 16:43

I knew the OP would be that pesky minx Alicia.
Wind 'em up, watch 'em go.
I'm sure the extremely stylish French and Danish women would be mortified to know that they were being dissed by the self-appointed queen of style on a mam forum.

Jaxhog · 29/10/2019 17:06

What a judgy thread!!

loochmartino · 29/10/2019 17:11

I don't think it's the scarf per se but how you tie it. There are so many ways to wear a scarf and they come and go in fashion terms too.
